Weeks ago I signed up for a singles event scheduled for this evening. $30 which includes 2 drinks and valet parking downtown. Certainly a profit making venture for the organizers, but not painfully expensive.

I've never actually met someone to get involved with at a singles event, it does get me out. So, any words of wisdom?

From my experience at one of these, you will have high school social circles and rarely anything higher than a 6.

Have fun and despite this being for singles, hooking up is the same as every other night.

I can't stand singles events. They are always horrible. I'm convinced the reason they suck is that people are actually more judgmental in these kind of venues. They put more barriers to meeting people and more barriers to finding what they want.

Well, I may have gotten a line on some part time consulting gigs at the singles event, plus I picked up a discounted ticket for a Gala at the Long Center in October. I also ran into a couple of young ladies from work. Not a complete loss.

Yeah....personally I don't like those events because the ratios tend to be horrid but the same rules apply.

Since you have already commited just go ahead, relax and just look for eye contact or other body language signals that indicate she's noticed you favorably. It's not hard. If not for the terrible ratios these kinds of events would be much better venues to meet women than clubs for most guys.
