What kind of fucked up person living in a slum shack has 9 kids when they can barely afford to eat? They are condeming their children to a future life of misery. Its almost criminal.

Like in India and African countries : many kids won't reach 5 years old healthy, high ratio of infantile death. The more children you have, the more you will get back money/workforce.
If 1 out of 9 child is successful in life, he can feed the whole family for years.
Parents just try to maximise their chance, try to send at least one at university and/or abroad.
In the countryear side, they need children to take care of the fields, of the eldest.

What struck me mostly is that these people essentially are not 'poor', they are simply living a tribal lifestyle in the city, fish, gather, do odd jobs, have a VERY short future time orientation. They are not living in some tropical island though. If they did, people would call them 'happy', 'liberated' and so on. The lifestyle is exactly the same except their habitat is a polluted hellhole.

I don't understand why, if they don't want kids, the men can't just pull out and jizz on her tits like a normal human. Also, women only ovulate for like three days and it starts 14 days after her period first started. Maybe stop blowing loads inside her during those three days?

What is this talent you speak off? I was in Manila and Cebu for a week and can count the number of 7's on one hand. I have never been so disappointed in the quality of girls in all my travels.

I keep hearing this, but I've been living in the Philippines for a year straight and I can safely say there are hot girls everywhere. The problem is, most of those girls are just not into foreigners. They're almost always with sub-5 local guys. Usually, the guy has a brand new economy car.. A few days ago, I saw a 9 riding with a nerdy-looking local dude in a 90s minivan, rusted out exhaust, smoke fogging. Car game is legit here, lol.

Remember they don't get the same level of education we do. Shit I didn't even know this 3 day rule you speak of, and I consider myself a well educated guy. Even in the west where we have sex education in schools and all these free clinics and contraception and you still have teenage girls getting knocked up daily. Actually forget about teenagers, even college graduates in their mid twenties are getting knocked up regularly. How can we expect slum dwellers to be vigilant about contraception when even educated Americans can't keep that shit under control.

Good point. Adding to this is the Catholic influence. They pretty much discourage use of birth control and encourage having as many kids as possible. Teenage pregnancy doesn't even seem to be that taboo here. The ex-bf of my current girl said his new gf is 16 and she willingly let him knock her up at 15.

When I was in Manila I picked up on this cultural aspect very quickly. As someone who naturally has a very long time horizon and a strong sense of advance planning, courtesy of the forum, the mindset of a peso earned is a peso spent was extremely frustrating to me.

In addition, one person doing BPO work or sending remittances from a cruise line or nursing home abroad can in fact keep the entire family of 12 people afloat. Hence, one person is working their ass off, while pregnant 16 year olds with their other kid in tow and the rest of the family is able to spend every day at the mall and eating Jollibee.
