Uni Ball Approaches
Hi Guys,

New to the forum and getting into the game. Had a Uni Ball, a couple of days ago. Did a few approaches but no luck. Had no number closes etc.

This is Australia BTW and social circle's play a huge role. I dont have a strong social circle so have to do extensive solo pickup's on lone individuals.

Not sure what I did wrong, but here is a outline of my approaches/experience:

Outline: :

I dressed sharp (probably the sharpest ever ~ no glasses/contacts, combed hair etc). Got complemented by two of my international room mates (no friends with all so they wont complement me). Caught one (8.5/10) eyeing me and looked at her as she was checking me out. But I did not want to waste my time with this one, as I did dance with her at a previous function, but literally no chance for a makeout etc (has a boyfriend back home).

Approaches about 20-25 girls at night (random approaches).
1) Saw this incredible 10/10 blonde was mind blown easily. Damn, so fine looking. So kept a slight eye on her and approached at the right time using a Direct Complement. She blushed and I introduced myself and shook my hands with her and left. Did not reattempt to chat with her again (should I have ~ not sure).

She always hanged out around a group of girls (5-6) at the ball and the after party club, so it would probably been hard to isolate her. Also, saw that none of the guys approached her or tried to hit on her.
( ~ Not sure on how to deal with this type of girls ~ but she was totally my type and defs single).

2) Approached another person from my course (lower year level) ~ easy approach. Introduced myself etc. She was alone so asked her to walk with me and introduce to her friends. But could not located her other friends at that time :\

3) Directly approached one of the random girls who was on my table and sitting alone bored, looking at the phone. Initially talked as I stood, then sat next to her. Initial reactions very positive, joked a bit and mentioned that she wants to dance with me later.

I was getting a bit bored later on, so asked her if she wants to dance (made a move), she said yes but also got her friends. As we were dancing, she and her friends decided to get a photo and left me :\

Tried re-approaching but she was not receptive. I got the feeling that she did not want to talk.
Not sure, How I blew this up :\

4) Our table had one missing member, I took the opportunity of sitting next to two ladies. Introduced myself confidentally, got this person hooked up (she was a first year). Tried to get her hotter friend to join the convo (to no avail - I have a short voice).

But the rapport with them died. As they failed to make convo with me and I didn't have ability to keep conversing with them. Did not see them again at the ball. Saw them at the club, but did not bother approaching again. I think, they were a bit shy.

5) Tried using a direct complement opener on a good looking girl from my course (lower year and who has never seen me), who I kind of had a crush on. I just went to her table and sat net to her and used one of the lines "I think I have seen you before, do we know each other and then the 'direct opener' "

The funny thing was, I tried to joke around/play game (similar to number 3), she got confused and introduced me to her other friend who just approached and LEFT the table LOL.

Not sure how I blew this one up..... Did not bother reapproaching ~ might again try day time (Prefer daytime approaches ~ less competition). After talking to her, dont think she is my type.... Probably a party girl - they are tough.

6) Talked to her friend. Was not too interested in her (neither was she), so shook hands and left in a min

7) Saw a girl, sitting by the phone alone on the phone. Approached her, asked hey hows it going etc etc. What are you doing etc. Not a bit boring, she did not reciprocate (I had to keep hammering questions).

8) Found a guy walking around. I was like "Hey buddy, how are you doing, saw you at xxx". He was like yeah.

Tagged along with him met his friends, introduced myself (he did not introduce me) to an asian girl and she just left.

9) Tagged along with the above guy, saw another asian girl introduced myself and she was kind of receptive. But we ran out of things to talk and I left (I wish ladies were no chatty).

10) Was walking around, saw a guy helping a girl with her foot ~ along with couple off her friends 2-3. Approached her friends, joked like "Damn you guys got a medical casualty, how terrible, hope you guys can groove it up on the dance floor etc." The injured girl looked up at me and I winked LOL (probably should not have).

Anyways, I then left.

11) Standing in line for a group photo. Complemented the girls behind me on their dress, asked generic questions on ~ where is the photographer etc.

Was for a short time, did not do anything.

12) Went to the night club. On the bus, sat next to a girl.
Tried to converse with her (ESP stuff). She was receptive but could not hear my voice.... :\So I gave up.

13) Saw a good looking girl at the bar. I approached, was like "Hey brooke, hows it going and gave her a hug" She was like wtf is happening LOL. I continued saying, I saw you in my class etc and she said she went to a different uni. I apologised and introduced myself.

But convo did not go anywhere.

14) Saw one of the lower year dudes, introduced myself at the club (go direct - "Hey hows it going"). Got introduced to his friends in the social circle. Did not bother with any as I was not interested.

15) Had one of the lower year girl (from my course) eyeing me. I do not know this girl, but have seen her around campus. Saw her doing it a couple of time (probably did not believe I would come to clubs). But did not bother introducing myself as she has a boyfriend.

Now when, I look back, I probably should have. Would have gotten me access to her social group as she was dancing with a pack of girls :\.

16) Saw girl sitting alone on table at the club checking her phone. Went to her and asked for time. Tried go further saying, its pretty late, what time does club close and whats brings you here etc....

Did not go further, as she looked back at the phone.

17) Was getting tried of the club and decided to go back home. Decided to do one last direct approach for an adrenaline rush. Approached this b***hy looking girl but sexy dress/legs. So used a direct approach and commented on her well fitting pants. Probably negged a bit (by mistake) by commenting on the wrong material. She accepted my approach, looked at me, corrected me and then just shrugged her shoulder looked straight and avoided my eye contact.

I was in a hurry, so just left.

Thats all the cold approaches, I can remember doing (and probably did some more indirect one). I am not very good with Kino but even without it, I felt that my approaches fell flat especially in getting the person interested.

A room mate of mine, not a confident bloke did 1 approach (hardly a approach, friendly convo) and was already making out with this girl (room mates again) in the club.....

Keen to gain suggestions!

Damn, I bet that hurt a bit! How'd he manage that with presumably no game? (you mention he's not confident)
It's amazing how that happens. I remember working in a warehouse once, and this new guy started, and he was slightly socially awkward, and not great looking (average, i guess), and to be honest, came over a slightly 'dim', and then he mentioned all the girls he was boning at his previous job. I assumed he was talking nonsense and then he showed me his phone and stuff. And they were HOT (foreign) girls. He's a Brit, and they were Polish girls who he was working with, but they were stunners! I felt my blood pressure rise with jealousy!! Smile Maybe the language barrier helped him out?

Anyway, sound like you have zero approach anxiety, so thats awesome.

I can't offer an advice unfortunately as i'm likely a lot worse off than you, but wanted to comment!

happy hunting!

I was not too hurt.

He did it with another room-mate of mine ~ not my type. Hence, he did not have any problems making a convo, as they sat on the same table.

None of my room-mates were my type, so I did not game them.

RE: Uni Ball Approaches
Clearly you've read some pickup material, cause you have the pua lingo down.

But it seems like you stopped mid chapter because every approach falls apart after the opener.

What do you think is supposed to happen after the opener?

If she opens
If she doesn't open?

You seem to think that her legs are supposed to fly open. That now that you've merely started the conversation she's going to do the hard work of becoming attracted to you.

To use an American analogy, you're swinging at the baseball, hitting a few, but not running the bases. And then wondering why the score board hasn't changed.

Wherever you learned words like "Kino" and direct opener - you need to finish the book.

It'd take a few hours to dissect all these approaches - but the main gist is that you don't seem to have the foggiest idea of what is supposed to happen when you meet a girl.

And your obsession with telling is your numerical ratings and school rankings isn't helping you describe scenarios or internally when it comes to properly assessing the chicks

RE: Uni Ball Approaches
Thanks for the reply.

My understanding is that, if she opens I continue the conversation.

If she does not open, I do not bother and search for the next person. If I see her again and she is looking at me, then I reopen.

I have read Roosh's book and he talks about the various themes. The issue is that I am interacting with uni students (18-20) and a lot of themes do not really work.

The individuals just get really bored or stop interacting.

Any suggestions on where to get additional info, on progressing from openers to nailing the conversations?

I find continuing the conversations pretty difficult.

I find continuing the conversations pretty difficult.

Let's see if we can get you sorted out.

The basic idea of game is that you should be able to walk up to any woman, start an interaction, put your best foot forward, and give her an accurate understanding of how cool you are. And the way you do it can actually turn a yellow light green, and a red light yellow.

Once she shows interest, then you make her invest.

When she invests enough, then you start sharing more of yourself.

From there you want to meet her friends, figure out what she's doing for the rest of the night.

As you spend more time with the girl, as you make her think of new things, feel new emotions, she's going to like being around you. That's not magic, that's basic psychology.

As you introduce touch and start flirting...the heat builds and she's more open to having sex. From there, you need to get some privacy and release the tension.

There's obviously more to it, but that's the basic road map.

There are lots of books, websites, coaches, videos, forums out there about all of this. Bang is a good first start, but it's just the beginning of your education.

So let's just # the steps

1. see the girl
2. approach the girl
3. say something to start the conversation

4. the 2 sided conversation starts
5. the things you say and do, and the way you say them - can turn the girl on.

6. When she starts seeking rapport with you, starts showing interest - you make her invest. So it's not enough to get her laughing, or nodding, but she needs to take part in the conversation, she needs to start agreeing with you, and taking direction from you.

It's only then do you start validating her.

You're getting stuck between 3 and 4, because
- you don't have this road map
- you don't really know how to have a conversation with a stranger from cold approach. And that's fine, most people do not know how to strike up a conversation with strangers.

In a lot of your attempts you came through with a compliment.

Girls get complimented all the time from guys that they do not value.

Complimenting a chick right off the bat, especially when it's about her appearance is not an easy thing for a newb to do. Which is why most game books say that you shouldn't open a compliment.

You got the typical reaction. Girl says thanks, but isn't particularly interested.

She doesn't value that compliment coming from you. You're of no value to her.

Although you may be well dressed, if it was a Uni Ball, there were probably other guys that were well dressed. So a decent looking guy in a decent looking outfit giving her a compliment isn't really making her excited.

Maybe if you were good looking, 6'5", great muscles, obviously had cash, very popular, commanding personality - that guy can give out compliments all day long and get positive reaction.

But that guy could also do anything else and get positive reaction. He's what girls dream about. (and most girls don't fuck their dreams)

So right off the bat - when you see a girl, you have your own personal experience that compliments aren't enough to get the party started.

So what is enough?

What else can you say to a girl to get her chatting?

Value

If you saw a bunch of your fellow classmates and you just had a tough test - you can talk to them about the test, and everyone will chime in.

If you see a bunch of kids with phones, you can ask if they're playing Pokemon Go. They'll chime in.

If you see a bunch of guys in Rugby jerseys, you can ask them about last night's game. Everyone will chime in.
____________________________________

So if you see a girl, you need to give her something that she can talk about.

The chick might straight up like you, but if you don't give her a chance to talk, something that she can talk about - it's hard for the chat to go somewhere - because girls do not take the initiative. It's up to you to move things forward. Always and forever.

You're at a Uni Ball, everyone is dressed up.

So at that event
- Girls care about dressing up.
- They care about dancing
- they care about who's hooking up with who
- where the after party is

This is the sort of world that she dreams about. Believe me, no guy came up with the idea of having a dance.

As I read your approaches - you only do a few things
- direct compliment on the worst thing imaginable
- ask her questions that you want answers to (you can ask rhetorical questions)
- introduce yourself.

You're not really adding any value to the social interaction.
You're not bringing the fun.

You're actually taking away. You're being a pest.

Why?

You're making her do work. When she only wants to have fun.

You're compliments require her to reciprocate - and she's lazy

Asking questions, requires answers and she's lazy

Introducing yourself with nothing to follow up doesn't inspire her to suddenly want to communicate. That would require effort on her part. And so far, you're just another guy in a suit. One of many.

At no point are you offering these chicks or anyone else, any sort of value.

So offer value.

If you're a funny guy, or you have interesting stories - GO STRAIGHT INTO THAT.

"Oh hey aren't you in my biology class....funny thing happened on Tuesday...you won't believe what happened...."

Then you tell your funny story, your interesting story.

She now is getting something better than watching other people dance, or looking at her phone.

She's also seeing how cool you are by listening to your story.

That's value.

Offering value gets her to interact. It doesn't spread her legs.
But you need to get something going with this chick before you can even think about sex.

So let's do a quick recap

1) see the girl, step over, get her attention,

2) start your story/joke KNOWING that you're going to have to carry the interaction at the beginning with little if any input from the girl. (it's called 90/10 in the trade)

3) knowing that you need input from the girl - whatever you say has to be something that she can EASILY chime in on and give her opinion.

You can
- Have a canned opener (either your own story, or someone else's story adapted - Don't you hate it when...today for instance....and then they had the nerve to add more eggs...)

- You can look at your environment (who would have thought that all these slobs could look so good, we should totally be dressed up to go to class. )

- You can make a cold read on the girl (OMG, you're totally playing Pokemon Go - your'e an addict...)

What you can't talk about is whether the Central Bank has backed itself into a corner with this zero interest bank rates or what would happen if Putin was actually assassinated.

She needs things that she can talk about and understand.

So that should get you started.

The other thing that I notice about guys learning game in 2016 versus 2001 is that they want to go from not knowing how to drive to F1 championship on the first night.

Can you approach?
Can you hold a 5 minute conversation?
Can you make a cold read?
If you say something that falls flat, can you stay the course and not get flustered?

You did 20+ approaches with only the vaguest of plans.

That's not game.
That's trying to get lucky.
That's pinging off chicks to see who you have instant chemistry with.

Keep in mind most guys at the venue aren't even trying.
They're hoping shit falls in their laps.
Most guys in the country aren't even going out. They've given up.

So you're doing better than most guys.
Not trying to beat you up here.

If you want to learn the game, break it down to steps.
And then focus on mastering the steps in order.

Guys that make 3,000 approaches and don't get bangs are doing what you're doing. They're going to events and just winging it.

No one successful does that.

Be successful.
Understand what you're doing. (by picking a guru and thinking through what he has to say, and trying it out)

Break down the process to manageable steps.

Keep track of your progress and work on things till you get them mastered.

Then move to the next step.
