Hello all,

I've been visiting this forum for quite some time, but I just recently signed up.

I am kind of stuck at a low point in life and looking for some advice. Figured this could be a good spot to maybe get some ideas.

Here is a short synopsis of how i lost everything. 11 months ago, I lost everything I built up in the MMJ business out west. Owned a ranch, had a yacht in Florida, was making six figures each summer in my 20's, traveling in winter, then one day I lost it all. I'd prefer not to go into great detail, but I basically got stuck up by some evil people and everything practically disappeared in a day. *None of this had anything to do with the police.

The ranch i ended up signing over due to non payment of mortgage, so i wouldn't get sued. The yacht was sold to pay lump sums on the mortgage before shit hit the fan. I had to sell my motorycycles and other toys just to survive this last 11 months. My liquid cash was all put into this operation, so that is all gone.

I'm now 29 years old and the only thing I have to my name is a car that just broke down. Luckily, I was able to move back to the midwest to live with family rent free after all this happened.

For quite some time, I was really good at what I did. I know that it may seem like I wasn't considering what happened. If it didn't happen, then I would of been looking at about 400-500k profit from June-October every year from there on out. It sucks, but I decided to be smart and get out of the business after this happened.

So now my ptsd is luckily pretty much gone and I am trying to figure out where to go from here. From 2008-2010, I lived on a island off panama every winter and loved every minute of it. Unfortunately, I don't know how I could live down there now being broke. The only other way I know how to make money other than growing copious amounts of ganja is selling stuff on ebay and amazon.

On another note, I've decided I can't live in the midwest this winter, so I am thinking of selling this broke down car for 2k and bolting to hawaii. Maybe try woofing on a organic farm or something. I really won't have any financial help from anyone, which needs to be factored in to my plan. I might be able to get a 100 a week, if I am starving though. I'm just wanting to get back to being comfortable.

I guess a dream of mine at this point would be to figure out how to make 1,000-2,000 a month online and travel. Fulfillment by amazon/buying things off alibaba look solid, but I really don't have the cash to invest at this point. Maybe if I get to hawaii and find a job after woofing, then this could become a reality.

Lastly, I thought about joining the navy, but I really don't know how I would explain no work history on paper since hs. I've literally been in the mmj business off paper since i graduated high school in 2006.

I really don't have many people to talk to, so any advice is appreciated. I'd just love to get back to living life.

Sorry for your setback, but man you are young to have learned such a great lesson!

Might be a bummer, but you still got your health, and your future ahead of you. Except this time you know you are capable of hitting the big time... if thats what you want.

A lot of older dudes have a similar rape of assets and income from divorce a decade or so later in lfe.

The options you mull over are all about experiences rather than dollars, which I advocate wholeheartedly at this age/stage of your life.

So go follow your heart and have some fun for a while, safe in the knowledge that you CAN build some bank and assets later in life when you are ready.

are you able to grow mmj discretely somewhere? seems silly to give up on an industry you have had huge success in

Huh? Something here doesn't add up. You were on track for a 7 figure biz... now you're gonna work on a farm? That doesn't make sense.

Start another business - something small, with low capital requirements. A service.

You must know your industry well. Who were your original customers, what other needs did they have? What needs did *your business* have, problems you solved, that you could help others running that same kind of biz with?

Think services with low/zero startup costs. Help them with their sales and marketing, their processes, production, etc.

You can throw up a website, pick up the phone and start offering consulting tomorrow. If you really did build your biz up to 7-figure profits, you must have plenty of know-how you can package up and get paid for.

Even just go and WORK for another MMJ - position yourself as a business development manager.

If you really did legitimately build such a profitable business, you have more than enough skills and experience to never go hungry.

If I understand correctly you were in the marijuana business? I'm sure with the ongoing legalization you'd be useful for companies who are in that industry with your background assuming you did so legally.

I thought the ranch's location was discrete when I bought it. It was over 1,000 acres. Our location was given away when we found out some bad people were flying drones to spot grows.

My customers were people that moved large quantities. I was never able to supply the demand for my product, so it went fast. I got my outdoor to look better than 95% of quality indoor growers product.I was getting 2,500-2,800 a unit all day, but i always sold 10+ at a time.. If I sold for 2,500 a unit, then it was 20 units or more at a time. Basically lost about 200 units. It would of only taken me 2 weeks to move that amount to. The people that moved my product were 4-5 friends from childhood...never a security issue.

I'll clear up what doesn't make sense. Basically if I ever had gone back to my ranch after that day, then I could possibly be killed. You couldn't pay me 7 figures to give it another go in that part of the state. These chicanos were connected that got me.

I'm now back in the midwest in a non legal state, so I don't really want to risk growing here and going to jail.

It sounds to me like you should get lost out of the drug dealing world in all capacities. You were blessed with a clean break.

My recommendation is go the total opposite way in life. Dont deal in drugs, and dont be a farmer. Learn new skills that are completely out of your comfort zone. Do not try to re-invent yourself in the drug world and do not re-apply what you learned wheeling and dealing buds.

Try a menial job. One you don't even like. One you hate even. Try the straight and arrow life.

Drugs are trouble. I dont care how fluffy and peaceful and legal you think your buds are. Its still a drug that attracts trouble. Sure a lot of people have lenient attitudes towards pot but you must have superior first hand knowledge now of its dangers. Its a narcotic.

You have cartel like people who are better criminals then you, they already cracked down on you with splendid success. I would forget about all the millions of dollars and walk away now before dealing dope is all you are capable of doing with your life.

If you liked farming then maybe become an urban organic farmer. Here's a video interview of a guy who rents out people's back yards to grow organic food. You could probably then take your winters off again to go somewhere sunny and warm once the growing season is over.

Or better yet do a hydroponic set up and start small.

To Attract Money, you must go on a caviar and champagne diet for at least a month.
Forget moving to Hawaii. Try Manhattan.
Get some short term loans to carry you over, and invest them in thousands of lottery tickets.
Make sure to say your Affirmations, and everything will work out fine.

(But seriously, just find another legal area without so much cultural enrichment, then sell online, maybe via a tor site.
If they're finding grows with drones, then grow indoors. Even a plastic greenhouse would muddy the waters enough.)

@beast: I'm not sure if you're though guy trolling or not. Shorting the drone with a rifle is just an invitation from gang or cartel henchmen. Those guys will come with loaded up and make you disappear real quick.

OP, do consulting in MMJ logistics and finance. You have experiences moving MJ and cleaning the money. I'd advertirse it as "knowing how to navigate the financial system" or some other corporate buzzwords like that, synergy nigga!

The US military will not touch you with your background. If you somehow made it through the process initially, you will eventually need a security clearance and then you are fucked. So, forget that idea. The US Military is a pretty shit deal these days any way given how politically correct it is. You COULD maybe join the French Foreign Legion but that's a whole another can of worms and not something you do on a whim. That's not just joining the military (a massive change in lifestyle on its own); that's essentially abandoning your current culture for something totally different.

Since you are broke and probably want something that rewards hustle given your background, I would be looking for legit sales jobs in the MMJ industry in places like Colorado, Washington state, and wherever. Find respective employers online and CALL and sell your knowledge to employers (be careful about your background and what you say). DO NOT waste much time on online applications in general (especially with larger, more well-known companies); it is pretty much a stroke of luck to get a job via that means these days.

Unless you have some overwhelming great offer elsewhere or have some overwhelming passion to do something very different from before, you need to financially stabilize ASAP. You do not want to get comfortable at home and end wasting time. Get a sales job or other legit job in the MMJ industry and get back to independent living as soon as possible. Sales jobs in particular are very difficult to fill in many cases (people of your generation suck at sales work) and there is a real demand for young hustlers in various industries. Therefore, it will be easier/quicker to get a legit job that route vs something more traditional where you will be competing with an endless supply of 29 year olds with 5-6 years of industry experience who want that safe/no pressure 50-70k job.

Also, getting a legit job will not only be good for your bank account but it will also be good for your mental health/sense of self as well. Believe me when I say it: you don't want to be 30+ and still living at home in America unless you hate pussy.

I cannot emphasis enough: You're lucky you at least have a stable place to launch from but don't be like a lot of folks and end up making excuses about why you can't leave right now, "I want to save a few more dollars" at my local crappy job, or whatever. Get that legit job ASAP. Everything else should be considered a secondary priority.

Once you are stabilized, you can entertain alternative ideas like going abroad, starting another business, or shifting to another industry. Could you do these things right now instead? Absolutely. But you can do them too (or works towards them) while also earning and living and it's WAY easier to entertain the aforementioned ideas when you have a paycheck coming in.

Appreciate all of your guys advice. I think I'm out of the game for good at this point. My short term goal will be to get a regular job. Long term goal is being able to make money online and travel.

I'm in a somewhat similar situation. I quit my shitty IT support job after a terrible breakup with my Ex, and literally becoming an alcoholic because of it, I fucking hated it anyway, but I wish I would've left on good terms.

Like you, I moved back to the Midwest at the age of 28 to live with my parents. When I first moved back, I had so many regrets about coming back home, I remember just feeling so envious of past classmates on facebook, everyone seemed to be skinny, have great jobs, and the part I envied the most, they were married. I've since deactivated the site

I initially was in Florida and they have some of most gorgeous women in the US, and where I'm at now probably has some of the worst. But I literally didn't know how long I could've survived by myself in Florida, I was in a BAD state. I finally got a job working at a warehouse just so i'm not bored, and I also have an interview for my dream job this week in a neighboring state! The way I see it, I can work there for a year, and eventually transfer to a Major US City. If I do well, and compete I'll be looking at a 150k salary in a few years. I can't fucking wait to tell this story to my kids when they grow up(if I have any)

Things will sort out for you, brother. I promise they will. Keep fighting, keep hope alive, and never give up.

If you think you are going to get into the mmj business in Hawaii, stop.

Don't take this the wrong way, but no "outsider" is getting anywhere close to it. The dispensary licenses are sold out, and none of the big grows will hire a "come here" guy.

Trying to do it on your own is even worse. These are islands. The 1000 acres in CA that drones found your shit on, is way smaller here. The cops are flying patterns over the whole state all day. Now that its regulated its big business, and the big guys keep it that way.

I also had a similar experience losing a bit of money not too long ago, and it can be challenging when feelings of anger, guilt and depression surface

The best thing that helped me when i was in my blackest hole, was focusing on my passion to create momentum, and perhaps most importantly, sitting in a moment of clarity, and asking myself intelligent questions like "What would really improve my life and make me happy?" and "What would I really be passionate about today?"

The answer that came was to create the maximum success with the minimum effort, which led me to make a sleep programming goal hypnosis tape, which i listened to for several years, and im sure it helped me net at least 250K in 1 year, aligning my mindset and beliefs towards abundance and success thinking and actions

Some might criticize that strategy, but I also netted 60K when I was much younger, and was listening to a similar track at the time, so its not a coincidence, and I come from a background of poverty, lack and general difficulty, so those results are not consistent to the mindset I was conditioned to accept as true
