Since moving to Leipzig recently, I've been trying to make sense of the dating market over here compared to the UK and evaluating the possibilities for running daygame in various locations. Thus far I've really only tried the two major bookshops in the centre of town, having approached three women in total, with one of them showing quite a bit of interest and sitting and chatting with me for around 10 minutes before finally getting suspicious after my cover story of wanting to buy a gardening book for a friend started to wear a little thin (I opened her with a comment about a gardening book she was reading and then asked her advice about a good all-purpose book on gardening, telling her that I wanted to buy one for a friend).

Anyway, one of the problems I noticed with bookshop game is that you spend an eternity hanging around for a suitably attractive woman to come along. Given that I'm working most of the time, I really can't afford the luxury of just hanging around bookshops all day but have noticed that I'm constantly encountering hot women - especially students - on the trams. And now to my question:

I've wanted to open a many of the girls after I've been spotted them on the tram, but when it came to actually forming a situational comment on what they're wearing or making a comment on some other facet of the environment, I just can't find anything remarkable to comment on. This is especially the case with their dress, since German women's dress sense tends to be fairly dull, including their choice of colour coordination. This all got me wondering whether there might not be an all-purpose "tram opener" that I could already be armed with, so that I don't have to spend an inordinate amount of time thinking about what I could possibly comment on, by which time my bottle has usually already gone and the girl with it.

Any ideas?

The most obvious: how to get to X.
The less obvious: what is beside the window.
The best way is obviously to comment on IOI, if you meet her eyes....
But tram game is in a way stressful, as you must take into account that they may get off on the next stop. The natural closure will be waving a hand to you as she gets off in a hurry, not slipping you a phone number.

I also think that Germans keep to themselves. Unless you are already close to her, wandering through the entire tram towards some girl will be awkward. Much more awkward than closing on her in the street.

BTW, in a bookshop I think you should situate yourself in a relationship/psychology section, not the gardening section. Germany has this serious bürgerliche culture, gardening and landscape design is an element of your middle class lifestyle, not of exploring the unexplored.

However, if you would like to explore the unexplored through gardening in Germania, that is very serious, too.
En example of typical German seriousness, here in regards to gardening: Demeterhof. I have heard from someone who lived in one of those establishments that they are almost like a sect.

Your statement-comment-question doesn't have to be remarkable.

It would be nice if you could think of thinking remarkable to say but it isn't always necessary..

Sometimes, a simple comment is enough to initiate the chat.

EXAMPLES:

Early morning about 8am, I was getting on the train going to work, I see a cute Asian walking behind me...

me: how do i pay for parking?
her: at the ticker machine
me: oh (pretending to be confused)
her: we are walking the same way so i will show you
me: ok great thanks

Saturday afternoon, I'm on the subway and a pretty, young latina gets on... She sits close to me... A few minutes later, a crackhead gets on starts acting crazy..

The girl makes eye contact with me..

me: I need some of what he is smoking

Public transportation game is about "killer instinct"..

You often have to act quickly and at the right moment..

Hesitation often leads to failure.

How can we develop this "killer instinct" on public transportation?

One idea is to practice making conversation + using humor on all passengers, not just the pretty girls..

- You see someone wearing an article of clothing with a certain sports team, brand name, joke, or image on it -- Make a comment or ask a question about it.

- You see someone that needs a little help like an old person or an non English speaker -- Help them!

- Someone smiles at you -- Talk to them

- Little kids are playing near you -- Engage them with a smile!

All of these little social interactions will help prepare you for the moment when a pretty girls gets on to the train, bus, subway, car pool and sits near you..
