I had problem recently when I was in Ukraine as I could not get a local SIM card to work.

Apple kept asking for my original password when I set up the account to use the local SIM instead of current Apple password.

I don't remember original password as I sure many people can't keep track of all the passwords since sometimes they need to changed.

What is the best solution to this ?

The chip is the same size in all sims so you could buy an ordinary one and break off the plastic until it fits.
