I've been talking to a woman lately and the other day she asked me if she could call me a certain nickname. I didn't like it because the nickname clearly had to do with my race, so I told her not to call me that.

Also, in the past, there was another woman. She liked to purposely spell my name a different way when she sent me messages.That kind of bugged me too.

In normal cases, should you allow it? Or is it just really not that deep? Because I view it as a way for the woman to subtly demean me.

As long as it isn't something negative, I would not make a fuss about it.

I have this 18 year old girl calling me Mr. Touch when we're alone because she loves the way I touch her, obviously I don't mind.

When a girls gives you a nickname I view it as positive because it shows somewhat of an investment from her, so I usually play along (build comfort?). You can always tease her back and give her a nickname too.

Who cares? If you're personally not annoyed by it then it doesn't. It's none of my business how she should refer to me unless it's disrespectful.

It is entirely up to you. Make sure she knows this. Even positive pet names delivered with ironic tones are secret insults. Don't be a good sport.

Do women even give each other nicknames? I have never heard of Susan 'Slippy V' Mcgregor or Pam 'the Pizza face' Jones.

I like the ones that denote leadership or ownership that put her in a happy, submissive place.

A few favorites :

Papa, daddy, sir, master, mister and then often followed by my first name. When I'm in a relationship with a woman, I embrace a happy sense of paternalistic love. Women that love men, love when you lead them. Don't deprive a good woman of that.

Nicknames are a powerful way of reinforcing the standard you set for the relationship.

As long as it's not something emasculating, I don't see why not. Anything that denotes a position of power over her is good (e.g. "daddy," "master," or "sir").

On a related note, I advocate giving girls pet names, too. Certainly helps prevent calling one girl by another's name. Also, depending on your choice of pet name, it can also help establish a good frame.

Those aren't nick names. Nick names by definition assume a certain level of comfort with you, that she shouldn't have until later.

If she is into you she will give you a pet name. Its more worrisome if she give you one way way way early in a 'relationship'.
