EU is not happy with slow censorship speeds. Maybe they would like access to a big internet delete key?

Speaking on Sunday, the EU’s justice commissioner added “fake news” to the list of what they want censored online.

The “series of commitments to combat the spread of illegal hate speech online in Europe” developed “together with… the IT companies” included a promise to “review the majority” of flagged “hate speech” within 24 hours.

However, a new European Commission report has claimed this has only been happening in Germany and France so far, and censorship often takes too long. Consequently, one commissioner implied they could pass new censorship laws if the “non-legislative approach” fails.

The review found that 40 per cent of recorded cases were reviewed within 24 hours, but the figure rose above 80 per cent after 48 hours. Twitter was slowest to respond while YouTube was fastest.

EU Justice Commissioner Věra Jourová told The Financial Times (FT): “If Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Microsoft want to convince me and the ministers that the non-legislative approach can work, they will have to act quickly and make a strong effort in the coming months.”

They see how the media is being called out in the US - the EU is fearful of their own doing the same.

Granted their "freedom of speech" is completely different from ours in the states.

More control, more power, more censorship to control the narrative.

If you go against the narrative, it's fake news, hate, and a crime now.

A very scary precedent.

Its a useful platform for the EU and their elite backers. What they're saying is Facebook should do more to silence dissent or will demand more bribes and increased regulations for them to jump through.

News which promotes anti-EU, anti-globalist news will be silenced. Grass root campaigns such as Stop Funding Hate and Facebook will endeavour to attack the likes of Breitbart on two fronts: 1: The feels and threats from grass root activists targeting big brand names, 2: The threats from Big Tech on advertisers who might not be so easily guilt-tripped by that article about migrants because "money is money".

Its a book burning scheme but for the internet age.

Now, if she wants to pass that stupid law of hers, her proposed law has to pass through the European Parliament, which will be quite hard. Whether we like it or not, more moderate elements are getting traction in that institution, and the EU does not like that. We are all aware what they tried to do to Barrage and Le Pain.


Personally, I do not care about that law (not a Tweeter user, stopped using Facecrap a year ago). But she should. If that law passes, hipsters and SJW's will cut her to pieces with spoons and butter knives. After all, for them, Facebook is God, and Zuckenberg is His messanger.

Let them censor. The more they censor, the more they wake people up and drive people to alternative platforms like Voat, Gab, 4chan, Rooshforums, etc.

This is great news because the fascists are finally coming out and showing their true colors. It will be hard for most people to ignore them anymore. The majority of people are still sane and rational and will turn against the Elite for actions like this. The small number of brainwashed liberals and feminists are hopeless cases and will never turn against the government no matter what they do.
