Casey Affleck right now:



Wouldn't be awards season without some beat-up diversion to allow people like Meryl Streep to excoriate 'abusive' Trump, all while getting a pass on their praise of actual criminal Roman Polanski.

Casey Affleck got the drama acting gong at the Golden Globes and a lot of people aren't happy about it. Anticipate a surreptitious campaign to stop him from winning the Oscar.

Apparently Brie Larson (I still have no clue who this woman is, but I thought she was was 46, not 26) got social media applause for frowning when she read out Casey Affleck as a Golden Globes winner.

For all of its success, “Manchester by The Sea” has had an equal amount of negative publicity, mainly stemming from Casey Affleck. The movie’s star was involved in two sexual misconduct and harassment lawsuits back in 2010.

While the accusations never go as far as rape or any major physical assault, they do outline a history of questionable and outright creepy behavior.

For instance, according to Górka, while working on “I’m Still Here” the cast stayed at Phoenix’s apartment. While there, she was offered his bedroom and he said he would sleep on the couch.

In the middle of the night she woke up and Affleck was in her bed. [the reporter was there, evidently] According to court documents [oh, now she switches back to the 'alleged' terminology] he 'curled up next to her in the bed wearing only his underwear and a T-shirt. He had his arm around her, was caressing her back, his face was within inches of hers and his breath reeked of alcohol.'

Last night, Affleck took home best actor in a drama honors at the Golden Globes. His award just happened to be called by Brie Larson, a famous women’s rights advocate and star of the movie “Room,” which has strong themes dealing with sexual assault and abuse.

Many are applauding the way Larson handled the exchange.

The internet is rightfully confused on why Affleck was even considered for an award given his history. [Again, this is the part I love. It's alleged, then it happened, then it's alleged again, then it happened again. And how can you praise a frown? Is that the standard we now use for what counts as laudable SJW activism?]

What made matters worse was during his acceptance speech, Affleck seemingly referenced the sexual harassment allegations [he's not allowed to defend himself, even obliquely, clearly], saying 'It’s my kids who give me permission to do this because they have the character to keep at bay all the noise that sometimes surrounds people who live publicly.'

Larson has not yet released a statement on her exchange with Affleck. Both lawsuits above were settled out of court.

Anyway, she was a bitch to him when he got the award from her. It's so brave for her to have done that in a room that regularly assumes any female claiming sexual harassment or rape is telling the truth, with zero repercussions for the witch hunters.

The story is especially interesting when you consider that Brad Pitt made a rather triumphant return at the ceremony.

Hollywood has always been full of hypocrisy, sometimes siding with people called woman abusers or child abusers by their partners because they're part of the industry, but often blacklisting or isolating those whose political credentials aren't solid (think Mel Gibson in the past).

What I expect we will see is a growing divide within Hollywood over sexual assault or divorce-inspired family abuse accusations. Affleck settled with his accusers (and I can understand why), but kudos to the man. He has never been A-list (not that that's a criticism in heavily politicized Tinseltown) and regardless of whether Ben Affleck is his brother, and perhaps in spite of it, he has climbed far after these allegations could have easily derailed him.

Brad Pitt and Casey Affleck's rebounds are paving the way for other guys to get a better deal when mendacious women target them. Their politics may be putrid, yet them being chased down benefits no one really and probably accelerates the kangaroo court process in society at large.

Yeah the James Deen thing was humorous to me because MANY of these girls openly gave their bodies to him on and off the camera.
One thing women, not just porn girls, forget is that their time in the spotlight getting the most attention is a ticking clock. Some of the girls who accused him were already on the down trend/tail end of their career. Most producers don't give a fuck what a female talents opinion is on anything. If they have any difficulties with ANY girl they will just find another fresh faced 18yr from the mid-west who is just eager to work.

Can you suck dick?
Can yo show up on time?
Can you wash your pussy?
These are the only things they care about.

Why Brie larson is even famous is beyond me.
Over the last couple of years it seems to me that ANY movie that deals with sexual assault or slavery/racism is automatically elevated to some kind of "god tier" giving the actors/actresses a kind of liberal invulnerability.
Her being "brave" is complete trash. Most people in middle America know this but most of the press and media organizations are based out of the east and west coasts which are liberal.

Brie Larson was the hot blond chick in the Scott Pilgrim movie. She was ~20 back then.



She's unrecognizable as the same person off set.



She's not really ugly per se, but... she sure is plain. Even putting her hair up is a terrible mistake.

Yes he is (((Jewish))) and does great scenes that enjoy irrespective of his race or religion- He brings the best out of these porn starlets and I like his work , especially on Kink.com. The allegations against Deen were most likely publicity stunts: from memory, the same day the allegations went up from Stoya, the first porn star to accuse him, her website was featuring her latest video, a rape fantasy scene in which she was acting alongside ... James Deen. They started to come out when the college rape hysteria was at its height.

Deen also played the allegations smart: he gave a written interview to Aurora Snow, herself a retired porn actress, and the interview is a masterclass in frame control and playing the allegations with a straight bat. On top of that, none of the accusers had the guts to put up their allegations to a court where they could be tested.
