Those are all actual "freaks." Director Todd Browning got the real thing; but he paid them well. No camera tricks or games. This is a famous pre-Hayes code film that was considered too shocking for some audiences. It still packs a punch. See the entire film if you can. Horror film aficionados owe it to themselves.

By the way - an animal taken in by PETA is getting killed most of the time. They do not even wait for adoption, euthanasia is their game. They want all the uselesse undeserving eaters to have zero pets. Of course their bosses are certain to have multiple dogs in their mansions, but no dogs or cats for you.

Either way - elephants or tigers simply cannot be held adequately there. The idea came from different times and we have to acknowledge that. Not everything with old tradition is good and valuable. We don't do public executions, nailing someone on a cross, sacrificing babies to the Gods or slavery despite the fact that those things were having millennia-old traditions. Though in our times the SJWs would probably call these practices cultural enrichment and let it slide so long as Whites are not doing it.

For those wondering what happens to these animals once the circus shuts down, there are many animal sanctuaries all over the world that operate off of donations and volunteers.

If you've never seen any behind the scenes treatments that goes into training elephants...it's pretty brutal and not something that should be reminisced upon. Elephants and tigers are not domesticated animals with nowhere to go. They should be left the fuck alone in the wild. Nature is cruel enough but that cruelty serves a purpose, usually in the transaction of one animal being killed and eaten so that another can live. Not for cheap entertainment.
