Imagine if you lived 2000 years ago in the time of Jesus and could see the future…having no concept of modern technology how would you describe to your people at your time something like a car, a lightbulb, a music concert, or a television ?

Let’s do some brainstorming on the symbolism from the bible's new Testament detailing the prophecy of the Apocalypse/Armageddon.


Here are my ideas....these are just ideas.


Revelation 13:16-18

I think RFID "chipping" would be a more likely source of the Mark of the Beast.

Below on the left is a painting done in 1563 of the Tower of Babel, by Pieter Brueghel the Elder, a Flemish Northern Renaissance Painter. Below on the right is a poster produced by the European Union symbolically depicting their mission. It combines the 12 stars of the EU flag with the rebuilding of the tower of Babel with the motto Europe: Many Tongues One Voice. Note also that the stars are shown as inverted pentagrams, an occult symbol for Satan.

   

The tower of the Louise Weiss Building (shown below), although it looks unfinished, was designed with the expressed purpose of resembling the tower of Babel as depicted in Brueghel's painting!

   

The European Union Constitution

The European Union is clearly saying symbolically that their goal is a defiant reversal of an act of God. The prophecy of Daniel chapter 2 tells us that this end-time attempt at unification will ultimately fail as an unfinished work, that it will soon be replaced by the Kingdom of God.

Dan 2:43 And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.
Dan 2:44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

The EU expanded from 15 members to 25 in 2004, making a new constitution necessary for practical governing. Before it could come into effect, the EU constitution had to be ratified by all 25 EU member states, either through a referendum or by a parliamentary vote. Nine countries already had done so: Austria, Hungary, Italy, Germany, Greece, Lithuania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Spain, however, rejection by even a single remaining country would prevent it from taking effect in November of 2006. The "no" vote that derailed the EU constitution happened on May 29th, 2005 in France. The Netherlands also voted "no" on June 1st, 2005 and the United Kingdom announced on June 6th, 2005 that it would not vote on the constitution. For all practical purposes, the EU constitution and its attempt at unity is dead.

As of January 1, 2007, the EU expanded to 27 nations with the addition of Bulgaria and Romania.

The European Union dropped plans for a constitution and decided to amend two existing treaties instead. Signed by the heads of state in Lisbon on December 13th, 2007, it still had be ratified by all 27 member nations to go into effect. Ireland, the only country to put the treaty to a public vote, defeated the Lisbon treaty proposition on June 12th, 2008.

In September of 2009, Czech senators filed a complaint against the treaty in the constitutional courts that delayed Czech signing of the treaty.

Ireland voted again on October 2nd, 2009, approving the Lisbon treaty, and Poland's President signed the Treaty on October 10th, leaving only the Czech republic's president to approve it, who has said he will not sign the treaty unless his country is granted an opt-out from the EU's Charter of Fundamental Rights.

On November 3rd, 2009, Czech president Vaclav Klaus signed the Lisbon Treaty, after the complaint to the constitutional courts was rejected. The Treaty became law on December 1st.

Belgian Prime Minister Herman Van Rompuy, chosen unanimously by the 27 European heads of government over dinner on November 19th to become EU President, is a devout Roman Catholic who was educated at the Jesuit Sint-Jan Berchmans College in central Brussels, and has degrees in philosophy and applied economics from the Catholic University of Leuven. This brings to mind:

Revelation 13:16 says that "no one could buy or sell unless they had the mark". That always comes to mind when societies make a push for eliminating cash. All commerce conducted by 16 digits on a piece of plastic that is traceable to a by banks that would have the authority to simply turn off a card.

Take that whole book with a grain of salt. It technically was never supposed to be in the bible, and the oldest official church in the world, the Armenian Orthodox, still does not include it in the canon. The issue arose because the previous "ending" to the bible was the Apocalypse of St. Peter, which interestingly describes Heaven and Hell in roughly the modern ideas and terms for it (ironic punishment and circular layers in Hell, physical bodies in Heaven). However, it was a proven forgery, so the church had to replace it, and the only one not a proven forgery (though not proven to be written by anyone relevant) was the Revelation of John. Which John? It isn't the same one who wrote the gospel of John, and it isn't John the Baptist. It seems unrelated to any John in the rest of the bible. Ultimately, unlike the Apocalypse of Peter, it seems totally incoherent with the rest of the bible.

Revelation Decoded: The Four Creatures Described in Revelation 4 Represent the Gospels

Revelation 4:6-8 reads:

And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts ful of eyes before and behind.

And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.

And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God almighty, which was , and is, and is to come. (KJV)

The four beasts described in Revelation 4 are big creatures who worship God in heaven, all the time. They’ve likely been there since before Jesus walked the earth. The first looks like a lion, the second looks like a calf, the third has the face of a man and the fourth looks like a flying eagle.

The creatures are identified as “Cherubims” in Ezekiel 10. They’re called “Seraphims” when they have six wings.

Most people tend to completely ignore this passage because they don’t understand it. However – the four beasts in Revelation 4 are important because they correspond to the way Jesus is portrayed in the gospels.

Sound crazy? Consider this:

The first beast, lion = the first book of the gospels, Matthew: The gospel of Matthew emphasizes Jesus’ status as a “king of the Jews”. This is why King Herod plotted to kill him while Jesus was still an infant. In Matthew 2, Herod is perturbed by the idea that a messiah will soon be born who is being referred to as “King”

The second beast, ox/calf = the second book of the gospels, Mark: The gospel of Mark emphasizes Jesus as servant. We read about him healing people in Mark 1, Mark 7, Mark 3 and elsewhere. Additionally, Mark’s account fulfills the prophecy in Isaiah 42:1-4 concerning Jesus as servant. Mark 10:45 reads: “For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.” This fulfills the prophecy in Isaiah 52:13-53:12.

The third beast, a man = the third book of the gospels, Luke: The gospel of Luke is about the humanity of the Lord. It emphasizes the fact that God manifested in the flesh, it refers to Christ as “The Son of Man” (Luke 5:24 and elsewhere). Luke’s account also features Jesus’ encounter with Satan, who failed to tempt him (miserably).

The fourth beast, a flying eagle = the fourth book of the gospels, John: The Gospel of John greatly emphasizes the divinity of Christ. John’s account begins with Jesus as an adult. The book’s very first verse reads “In the beginning was the Word, and the Ward was with God, and the Word was God.” This continues through John 1:2-4. Jesus is referred to as the Son of God in verse 34 and the Lamb of God in verse 36. The reason an eagle is likened to a divine figure is because God’s divinity and strength is likened to an eagle many times in the Bible, Psalm 91:4, Deuteronomy 32:11, Psalm 103:5, Isaiah 40:31 and elsewhere.

Also, the eagle is often referenced as the “King of birds” and an international symbol of strength.

Conclusion: The Bible is full of amazing symbolism and beautiful writing. When reading the entire book in context – you’ll notice many passages in the scriptures are somehow related and intertwined. In this case, the four beasts described in Revelation 4:6 clearly resemble the gospel accounts of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. In order.

That is NOT a coincidence.

I've been thinking a lot lately about how Jerusalem is prophesied to become such a burden that the world won't be able to bear it. For decades I assumed this meant something about MidEast unrest getting so tumultuous that the world would go to war over Israel/Palestine/etc.

Lately, however with the help of vast resources on the Internet, and after having experienced living and working a month each in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv (in secular settings) I'm starting to wonder if something much bigger might be about to break:

What if most of the "anti-semitic" claims (I'm thinking NWO, Rothschilds, and holocaust-denier-type claims) someday become exposed and widely accepted as true? I don't wish to discuss all those claims here, but let's just say, "What if?" What if something huge causes not only the Arab and Muslim world, but the entire Western world as well, to get irreconcilably pissed off at Israel? Apocalypse cometh quickly after that, no doubt.

An evangelical Christian, I of course believe that God's promises to Abraham / Israel cannot be broken, but I also admit that Israel has, on the whole, rejected its Messiah, and her children are in very bad shape because of it. There seems to be no reason that the Jew haters and Israel lovers can't both be right, at least in terms of eschatology.

I haven't heard this idea from anyone else. Would appreciate support or constructive criticism.

There you go, the 3,000 year history in which various books were written, discarded, replaced, burned, and reinstated. If the Bible is the same now as it was intended why do Catholics, Protestants, and each subset of Orthodox have their own versions with different books? The Ethiopians have books no one else accepts, the Meqabyans. The Armenians reject Revelation. The Catholics affirm the Apocrypha, the Protestants do not. We are still finding Christian texts and literature today that were hidden away for millenia, (e.g. Nag Hammadi Library https://infogalactic.com/info/Nag_Hammadi_library, Dead Sea Scrolls https://infogalactic.com/info/Dead_Sea_Scrolls) which show what Christians believed at the time, which wildly contradicts with today.

I'm all for letting Christians be Christians, but at least know what you believe.

The Canon is what is considered by the Church to be reliable.

Even considering the canon, some books are not even used liturgically.

"The Faith" includes doctrine and practice.

Yes, there is only one Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church by definition. What becomes of other "churches" no one knows, similar to what becomes of the "nations".

The above mentioned Church of the creed has a practical and liturgical use of the bible, as well as the proper interpretation of said Bible, since the Church wrote the Bible. There is nothing rigid or 1-dimensional about any of this. It logically follows.

What's more, it is of note that the book of Revelation is never read liturgically.
