Can that motorcycle phalanx defend against a kamikaze attempt from an assassin car, van, or truck? Looks cool but doesn't seem practical for defense. Though the roads are completely closed so maybe it's mostly a ceremonial motorcade.

Edit: Here's an actual Putin motorcycle in heavy traffic. His car is naked when crossing traffic and also when driving on the opposite side of the road, where a driver can simply swerve into him. This is in fact how one of his drivers were killed in the past.



Obama's motorcade (halfway through the below video) had more beef to it (SUVs), along with a huge entourage that is probably not related to security.

Russians obviously take it easy - also it is not clear what limousine he is actually in, so assassins would have to attack all middle cars, which are certainly armoured at cost of 500k-1mio.$ each.

US presidents are better protected unless the globalists want them gone, then it is astonishingly easy to take them down.

It should be noted that in the USA, 4 presidents have been assassinated and many others have been attempted. No Russian President has ever been assassinated and no Prime Ministers have been assassinated since the the revolution in the early 1900's. It's possible that due to cultural and historic difference, the Russian people have far more respect for their leadership.

Video in OP looks like the beginning of a sick new Putin TV show. Also note how prestigious and ornate the decorum is for the Russian President.

25 years vs 250? I don't think the Russians have that much respect for their leaders if you see how many times they tried to kill their Tsar, but the Russian police state has always held a low regard for the lives of anybody speaking against their autocrat, let alone acting against them.

I thought so, too. I saw GWB fly into Birmingham, AL on AF1 and he had a ton of motorcycle cops leading him. But they were there to shut down traffic. He also had a phalanx of bullet proof SUV's around the limo. There was so much goddamn security to the point that it was ridiculous.

However, Putin could likely take off his shirt and take out a battalion of attackers, so he doesn't need as many bodyguards.

Even the Czar was not killed JFK or Lincoln style, shot down in public. He was arrested and then executed.

I wonder if many times these motorcades do not have aerial support, like choppers, and if many times, these are not decoy motorcades, while the President goes on another direction.

The Russian revolution was in the beginning of the 20th century (1917 to be exact) - In the US 4 presidents have been killed starting with Abraham Lincoln in 1865.

It's worth noting that Russia underwent a drastic political and cultural shift upon the revolution, while American governing practices have mostly stayed the same since it's independence in the 1700's. Tsarist rule needed to change which explains the strife of that time and the murder/attempted murder of Russian emperors/rulers.

I'm just saying that looking at the history of each nation, it's not crazy to think that current Russian leaders may feel safer than US leaders.

You're right. When Marine One takes off, there are three or more of those helicopters all taking off at the same time in case someone has a shoulder fired SAM. The feds call them MANPADS: Man Portable Air Defense System

Trotsky, who at one point was the heir apparent to Lenin and rival to Stalin, was assassinated. There have been attempts on Lenin's life, and his own death is not entirely void of intrigue, as is the death of your avatar, Uncle Joe...

In any case, the Soviet apparatus' norms for governing were well outside the traditional cultural norms of Russians.

I didn't like much of anything about Hussein Obozo, but Obama called Dakota Meyer (Medal of honor) on the phone and asked, "What can the president of the United states do for you?" Dakota said, "I wanna have a beer with the president."

Not only did Dakota get to have beers with the president, Obama personally brewed a batch of beer to share with him. That's pretty goddamn cool.

If you kill(or attempt to kill) a Russian president overtly the FSB kills your entire family or jails them, goes after your neighbors and coworkers as conspirators and jails them and or kills them, bans generations of your family from public service , and seizes everything you own. Putin also has decoy cars and convoys with very convincing body doubles,and constant surveillance of his enemies. He is not living a worry free life, he has many enemies and people that want him dead-some of these people are in the Russian government plotting against him waiting for their opportunity.


When Russian government figures become inconvenient they die of"strokes" "cancers" and "heart attacks", if someone kills Putin it will be in this fashion-not an assassins bullet.

I would feel safer as Putin, where dissenters "randomly" die from radiation poison and other convenient causes. For that reason I would rather be a duly elected President. If you look at last century, over 20 million Russians were killed by their own government. I'll trade a handful of leaders over a chunk of the total population any day. Let us not get hung up putting Putin on a pedestal.
