Barbell/Starting Strength training in D.C.
Anyone doing starting strength style training in D.C.? I'm hoping to find some like-minded people who might want to get together for a workout or just to drink beer and talk about how much squats suck.

Not in DC, but I just wanted to say: Squats do not suck. They are the best.

Keep up with Starting Strength and you'll agree.

Good luck with your weight training.

Edit: Also thought I should point out that alcohol impairs muscle synthesis. Not saying "Don't drink" just wanted to make sure you were informed.

Three public chin-up bars I know of: Calvert & CT Ave just inside the park, bottom of Exorcist steps at base of Key Bridge, and on MD Ave across from Museum of American Indian. Do you know of any others?

I'm tall and long-limbed, and have had knee injuries. Love deadlifts, hate squats. I agree they are important though. Also, doing this mostly on my own (one session with an SS coach when I started), it's been hard to get the squat form nailed down.

Not offhand.
