I'm trying to quickly make a few thousand dollars to pay off the rest of my lease and then be free to persue other projects. Does anyone have experience either doing something like temp work or maybe work that can be done over the internet? I'm open to suggestions if anyone has been able to find a gig like this where the pay is good for a relatively short term project.

Mostly stuff related to research, writing, legal etc. I'm also pretty good at interacting with all kinds of clients based on my last job.

I think you can make some dough (not sure how much) writing content for websites.

Especially if you have some legal knowledge.

I might even be able to hook you up with a friend of mine.

He probably will need to see some writing samples though.

This is why it's always advisable to have a tangible skill as a seconday asset. HVAC, swinging a hammer, rebuilding an engine. Get competent and it's easy to do contract, secondary, or odd jobs. There's nothing wrong w/ getting a degree in French Literature, but when the economy tanks you can't boil that piece of sheepskin long enough to be tender enough to eat. Words of advice in today's job market.

I've already had a couple of interviews for "real" jobs, because I do actually have a specific professional field that I work in and I have good experience. However, if I can I'd rather avoid having a normal job for the next few months.

My first degree was almost as bad as the useless French Literature degree, so I went back to school for a professional degree. But generally I agree that most degrees are a bad return on investment. If I had to do it all over again I'd probably spend a few thousand getting a community college degree or something else really cheap, then just start working or start my own business or something.

I've seen construction come up a few times (especially from G) for something like this, Im in a spot looking for some side work to make extra scratch, would construction be a good option for this? Best way to find a legit construction company that'll have steady work? (sorry to highjack the thread slightly)

Tending bar and restaurant server (higher end places) are good for quick cash. The work sucks, but there is a side benefit of getting into a new network of pussy...and bars and restaurants almost always have a network of pussy.

I know someone who was a waitress at a restaurant (cost about $10 to $15 per person) and she would make around $20/hour and sometimes as high as $40 or $50 if there was a banquet or large group.

Not quick or easy but not too bad either.

No good on the title liens? The guy that files them for me charges $550 and told me he filed 90 in one week.
In South Florida guys are putting ads for Repo solutions and filing storage liens on cars in repo that they buy for pennies.
Out of about 15 this year the banks only bonded one on me.
A boat that was owed 65k on they didn't even respond to the certified letter

He has two girls working in his office now.
Once you know the laws its cake. You can do that work for garages , junkyards, marinas etc.

You shouldn't be donating for profit, that's sort of lame.

I donate platelets at the Red Cross once a month at least. The Red Cross doesn't pay for donations. I do it because people legitimately need them. I have the universal type. (Mine can be given to anyone.)

Platelets can be donated every 7 days. Whole blood every 56.

More people should donate.

Just something to think about.
