That worked so well in the recent terrorist attack in London where a cop faced 3 Devout Muslims with knives.

You go first and tackle an enraged suicidal Muslim swinging a hammer. The only safe way would be to tackle him with full riot gear and shields or do you want to end up with a hammer in your eye or lodged in your skull?

At best they should corner them. All armed response units should have several pump action shotguns with beanbag rounds.

Just blast away until there's nary a bone left unbroken in their body, then put them in ICU and don't bother to re-set the fractures in their arms and legs.
