Any recommendations for moving to a new city?
I'm moving for work and won't know anybody there outside of a couple at work. I'm keen to meet a new crowd of like-minded folk; how would you go about building a network, professional or social? My first thought was to join a Toastmasters branch and a fighting gym, couldn't think of much else to do in terms of group activity.
Any thoughts, anything that worked for you?

Fighting gym sounds good, Toastmasters can very different from one place to another, give it a try. Try to get into the city council or political activism if you are staying for long.
