The shooter campaigned for Bernie Sanders.

Looks like he has one criminal charge from 2006 that was dismissed. To keep this from being a narrative buster, progressives will likely try to shift the attention to gun control.

You know when a wave is just about to crest. There's no white surf showing yet, but it's about to start rolling over and foam.

That's what this feels like. It's funny, because for everyday Americans like me and the people around me, nothing has changed. I mean nothing. There's a pretty good chance I go about my Wednesday as if nothing happened and this doesn't even come up in conversation.

But our entire country is being shaped by those few people at the top (yes, I'm implying the shooter is just a pawn for liberals (media, education, government, hollywood, large corporations, etc).

Edit: TravelerKai, I probably agree with you 99% of the time, but I disagreed with your post before, and I disagree with it now. Free speech should never be limited, except as it already is in our country. It's the most precious thing we have. And yes, this includes the Proud Boys free speech rallies where people are being harassed. Berkeley should be punished for not protecting those who needed protection. The State government should step in when someone is being assaulted, and if they don't, the Federal government should step in. Thankfully, one thing the Supreme Court(s) side with consistently is free speech.

Free speech should be protected at all costs. This is a cultural problem. I don't think Kunty Griffin should be detained because of her Trump head. I don't think a play should be shut down because it displays the president being assassinated. I don't think we should limit free speech to try and shape our culture.

As much as I want to, that seems like a slippery slope, a dangerous road.

Obviously if a person threatens to assault the president, they should be arrested and charged.

I called this yesterday.

This dude threatened Trump previously. Instead of coming after him, which is alot harder typically, he went after the next best thing, the Republicans in Congress.

Is the Secret Service overwhelmed or what? They need to serve everyone threatening the President and keep a file on each jackass doing this. Anyone doing plays or stuff like what Kathy Griffin did, need to be charged otherwise others will just get emboldened to keep doing this.

As much as gun free zones agitate me, this problem has alot more to do with people making threats and getting away with it, like nothing ever happened.
