Every year, Norwegian teens on the cusp of graduating from high school celebrate "russefeiring" or "the russ," a month-long celebration centered on drinking, party buses, and wild challenges.

"In the American movies, we get the impression that they are so crazy. But we have the craziest celebrations here in Norway," Fredrik Helgesen, a student leader of the russ committee, told the Associated Press. "I don't think anything in the world is like this."

Anyone has any more info or anecdotes on this ? Seems like a cool place to crash through fake stories and ids or alternatively hit up some of the venues and festivals they flock to. I wouldnt spend my life chasing this but anyone who wants to score a ton of teen scandinivian poosay in a short period of time this seems ideal and I imagine competition will be next to nothing from the scruffy teenage boys.

Anything similar anyone knows of in any other countries? Or similar hacks to swoop poosay ?

The above seems much easier to crash and have success than typical spring break parties with arrogant ripped abs wankers and girls on molly.

Cool thing if you are 18-20 or look that way, speak Norwegian and can join the frey. I doubt that you can crash most of the events, since you have to remember that these are often class trips, so all the people know each other.

I think that the best way would be to try to get hired as security there or work somewhere around the organisation of those events and then hit on the girls for a quickie behind in the car. But you would need to have excellent Game level or be very attractive anyway, because the familiarity of the events can backfire easily on you. You can approach thousands on spring break without repercussions, but this is unlikely to be the case in Norway especially since you are not part of the ingroup.

Seen and butted in on this a couple of times, with varying degrees of success. Norwegian Students in this state however are a very tight-knitted group and everyone has wanted in on that action since the dawn of time.


It should be noted as well that it's not super common, the article makes it seem as if though all graduating Norwegian kids participate in this, which is definitely not the case. If one of the busses comes through an area you're visiting, great but trying to intercept them or plan a route after theirs (which can change on a whim) is not something I recommend.

As always, if you want to bang Scandinavians, catching them on vacation is a far better method. Consistent bangs at the home field is only guaranteed if you give the place a longer stay.

When do you think is the best time of year to find Scandinavians in Ko Phi Phi? Is summer time good or do most just stay in Europe since the weather is nice this time of year?

West coast of Thailand is not a good place to visit during summer due to heavy rain. Best time is in the winter and particularly Christmas/New Years.
