Kind of random I know I was listening to a podcast and it mentioned the guest as being from cape girardeau. I googled it and immediately got caught up looking at images of this city. Looks very beautiful. Has anyone ever been here?

I have before. I am from St. Louis. If you ever come up St. Louis way, take a drive on the Alton River Road.

That whole region is a unique and forgotten part of the country, I've been through there many times, although not Cape Girardeau specifically. Somewhat southern in character, good barbecue, some antebellum architecture if you know where to look, local wineries, beautiful nature. Shawnee National Forest is right across the river, this is an area called Garden of the Gods:
