What process do you go through or what things do you look for when deciding to use direct or indirect openers for daygame?

I currently will use indirect openers when approaching a woman without any IOIs like eye contact, smiling at you, touching her hair, etc. However, in the situations where I do receive IOIs, I tend to go with more direct openers. This is more in keeping with my personality but it also seems to be less likely you would scare the cat if she is giving IOIs. How do you approach this and does this vary for you depending on the locale? Also, do you tend to give the woman a chance to give you an IOI first before your approach or are you always looking to approach straightaway?

I just go indirect when I can. When I have limited time or I can't think of a way to open indirectly, I'll go direct.
