Field test it now. You need a hook point with the girl. You see her often - don't wait too long.

When you see her being "hooked" at least somewhat interested in her, then ask her out - netflix and chill etc.

You cannot easily escalate in school, so the question is not useful. Also - looks at your age and in high-school matter more than any time in the future.
