PSA websites mining crypto-coins in your browser
Hi,
just a short info for you:

Some (more or less shady) websites are starting to include crypto mining code, to use your CPU ressources, while you are browsing their site.

You can read more details on IT news sites, like
https://www.theregister.co.uk/2017/10/13...to_mining/

In my opinion, mining inside the browser is a total user scam and *extremely* inefficient. Don't know from which corner of the internet the idiots with this idea came from ...

(Ok, is ofc connected to this current crypto-boom and our central banks printing money like crazy, so this money flows everywhere, also in overspeculated crypto-currencies, and some shady admins think, they could make money with this.)

Hm, forgot to mention two things:

You may notice these scripts b/c your browser responds slower & your machine / especially laptop produces more heat.
And ofc you can detect it in your task manager, but I guess not all of you check the task manager regularly.

A possible solution:
Use the uBlock origin adblocker. (It's available for FF and chrome).
In default settings it will block 3rd party content, including these coin-hive domains.
(And disable ads for roosh's sites or buy his stuff instead Wink )

I can't imagine that any mainstream site would have anything like this. Otherwise it definitely crash their viewer base. Only porn sites have the volume necessary to make it even profitable and get away with it.

Also video streaming sites.
