Since I'm a newbie, I'll make this quick:

I'm an HVAC installer/tech who was laid off this morning but was about to save at least $8400. It's the slow season and being in FL, I arrogantly presume I'll get a job prior to season vamping up.
I'm 28/B/M, 5' 11" (but I tell myself and everyone else I'm 6'), 200 lbs. I'm Haitian so I have some type of dancing rhythm. The plan is to go from 11/4 to 12/5 in which the ticket would cost me $268 plus baggage and lodging would be approx. $165 due to homestay.com. I would if I'm be better off with a hotel or hostel. Obviously I want to get laid but the host a woman, status unknown.

I speak better Spanish than the average ninja but for the most part, that isn't saying much but speaking Spanish as if I'm speaking Kreyol allows me to Enunciate words surprise clear. At least clearly enough for ppl to ask if I'm Dominican (-_-).

I would arrive in Medellin and stay there for 2 weeks before journeying to the Choco department and arriving in Quibdo. From there........who knows. I know it would behoove me to exchange currency in the US before leaving, hoping I don't get finessed later down the line. I'm thinking at least $1000-1500. I have Wells Fargo so I'll see if I'd be better off using a dc than carrying cash but if I do go to Choco, I'd think cash would do me well. That's the itinerary so any suggestions would be highly, highly appreciated. Let me also quickly state that I have NO illusions about potential issues in CO hence the intentions of going to Choco/ the Pacific region. That said, I'm looking forward to any helpful posts.

Sounds like you are in for an adventure.

I visited Colombia before but never made it to the Choco region but I was in Cali, salsa is huge there so you might want to practice if you dont know how.There isnt a whole lot of advice I can give but Im looking forward to hearing how your experience goes.

I don't think you're going to do well in Medellin as a black man from what I have seen. I would recommend Barranquilla with Cali being a very distant second. Even if you already booked your flight to Medellin , you're looking at 80 mil taking an Uber from the airport to Poblado, that's about 28 dollars - more than half of your cost to get a one way out of Medellin - about 150 mil-- using Aviancas website with a Colombian IP address and searching by Colombian pesos

I hope you prove me wrong and would love to hear about it if you do, but this is just my honest advice. If you want to see beautiful women and a beautiful city , you're in the right place. But if you want get laid and you're looking at a short time frame for your vacation, I think there are better options for you before you book your accommodations. And if you do come to Cali , I'll probably be here and we can hang, but if pussy is what you want, I would go to Barranquilla, even though it's a compete shithole and the people are stupid.

Here's the thing: as far as women are concerned, I love my black women and they take priority compared to the other classes. I guess zambas would come second (again w/ the dark skin, then mulatas then mestizas then blancas come dead last. Granted, one might say CO may not be the best place for BW hence the reason why I mentioned Choco, whether it'd be Buenaventura, Quibdo or any other places w/ a decent percentages of Afrikan ppl.

All that said, I will take heed to what you said. I'll be in Medellin for a week which will be my pivot point. Being Haitian-American, I have NO illusions about my societal position and if tickets were cheaper, I'd take a flight to the Motherland in a nanosecond. I don't look for the respect nor adoration of other ppl, being the Descendants of the Rebellion.

You might also talk to Scotian on the forum. He took a bus to Buenaventura and has a good story about it. If you have a good back and don't get motion sick, you can pretty much go anywhere on a bus here for very little money.

Never stay in hotels or hostels in Colombia if you wanna not worry about bringing girls back. Airbnb or some other way to get a real apartment, by yourself. Casacol in Medellin is highly recommended.

^ At one hostel I stayed at I brought a girl back no problem, I think with a lot of them they kind of just ignore it if you have a private room. The owner probably even heard me porking her because the asked me how my night was with a smile on her face.

I guy a met he was also bringing girls back to a dorm room in the daytime and banging chicks out.

Sometimes hostels can be shitty, but a lot of the time if just get into a new city, don't know a single fucking person you can be going out with a group of people for drinks or two a club 10 minutes after checking in.

The plan is to stay w/ someone via HomeStay for a week to get acclimated to the city then make moves once I have everything situated. I will say those properties are drop-dead gorgeous.

If you are going to visit Buenaventura and Quibdo then you’ll have to travel to those cities from Cali and Medellin, which will make a decent trip.

You can find decent hotels (clean, a/c, tv, etc) for $20-30/night, PM me for ones who won’t cock block you.

Cali to Buenaventura is a cheap three hour bus ride, Medellin to Quibdo is 12 hours so you’re better off taking a plane from the Medellin city airport, Satena air flies there daily, you can usually show up an hour or two before the flight and buy a ticket for $80 return.

Buenaventura and Quibdo are both shitty places, I haven’t yet been to Quibdo but Buenaventura is a total dump. That being said I kinda like it there, the seafood is great and there’s some nice beach spots nearby (Juanchacho and Ladrilleros). Although the percentage of black people is higher in Buenaventura, there’s more blacks in Cali given that its a city of about three million people and upwards of 40% of its citizens are black.

Medellin isn’t a black city at all, you’ll see some black people in the city, most from other areas who migrate there for work but blacks just aren’t a big part of the city’s history and culture. Its still the nicest city in the country and certainly worth it to stay there for a couple of days, the party scene is great there.

So my advice is to stay longer in Cali, you’ll have more options there and its a lot nicer than Quibdo and Buenaventura.

Ah yes the time I fingered an 18 year old Afro Colombiana who sat next to me on the bus to Cali, that was fun. Also at that time there was huge gang war going on that I wasn’t aware of and the president sent 1500 troops there and imposed a curfew, people kept asking me “what the fuck are you doing here?” In places like quibdo and Buenaventura violence can break out over night so pay attention to local news reports.

That's just one building (the best one though). Casacol has other buildings as you can see on their site, with a range of prices. Plus if you stay a week or longer you can negotiate a lower nightly rate and a much much lower monthly rate.

It's definitely the very high end for Colombia though. It's understandable. Everyone's got different budgets in mind when visiting Colombia.

Since I live there, I'll defend it slightly and say that there's a high chance she's one of the two, but not 100% of the time. I do see girls that don't look like prepagos there, totally normal middle class or upper class girls, and hopefully the girls I bring over aren't all Tinder sluts.....

But any jacuzzi pic definitely raises a prepago or slut flag in Medellin.
