Best Central/South American Country to spend 10 days in over Christmas
So I'm not a huge fan of Christmas. My family doesn't really celebrate it, I'm not going home to see them, and I'm not keen on sticking around in my city with all of my friends gone.

I'd love to fly from the US to a foreign country, grab an AirBnB for 10 days, chill out, work, lift, and fuck a few girls off of Tinder/Instagram.

The trouble is that I've heard many countries are dead around this time as girls travel to be with their families.

Are there any countries in Central/South America or the Caribbean where this wouldn't be the case?

I think the Christmas season slows down game wise practically everywhere in the region but if you pick a large enough city there will always be opportunities. Bogota, Sao Paulo or Mexico City should still be lively.

I'd recommend a beach place or something in Mexico where you will have tourists plus locals travelling. Plus a nice solid place to relax for a few days.

Most people will be away or spending time with family, so its not a great time to go to big cities if your interested in girls. Speaking of the big cities I know..Bogota, Santiago exc they are dead.

I like this idea. Capture the similar market, girls that aren't really close with their families so they go on vacation during the holidays.

Any suggestions somewhere outside of Mexico? I've already explored Mexico pretty extensively so I'd love to check out countries further south.

Well Mexico has some great options though..

If you are willing to go far south, Valapariso and Vina del Mar in Chile are two great options around winter holidays. Its a long flight but not to far once you get to Santiago.

Otherwise there are probably some good places in Costa Rica with rich Ticas travelling too.

Exactly. I've heard that nothing happens in Colombia in late December. Not sure what he's talking about.

If I had to go to Mexico, where would you guys recommend for the combination of being able to pull local girls plus tourists?

Not in South America, no. Christmas is extremely important in Catholic countries.

One idea is taking advantage of New Year's eve. It's very common for people to travel to beaches and touristy cities to celebrate New Year's. Either make a reservation to a good New Year's party or go to a city where there's an outdoor party. Travel a couple of days after Christmas. Girls will be extra slutty during New Year's because they will be traveling and in the mood for new adventures to start off their year... and tipsy from the Champagne.

Bogota and Medellin are pretty dead during that time, but it's because everyone goes to their fincas or beach houses. I'd like to know what these pueblos outside of Medellin are like, in like Santa Fe Antioquia, during this time.... But you also have Cartagena and Santa Marta as options as that's where pretty much everyone else seems to go. Lots of people go to Aruba and Curacao during then as well, from what I see on Instagram.

I read your data sheet on Santo Domingo. You correctly point out the class status and other nuances with this city. There is much more that could be said for another day.

As far as your question here are three suggestions.

1. Guayaquil
Don't rent a place for 10 days. Rent a CAR and head for the coastline and make your plans as you go along. Maybe you could find a travel partner I hope.

2. Punta del Este
"the" place to be around Christmas, expensive, high end.

3. Go to Hawaii instead

Thanks. I worked hard on that datasheet, but nary a reply Sad looks like it's gotten some likes, so hopefully it helped some guys out.

Great suggestions.

Maybe I should consider going further afield, perhaps to a country that doesn't celebrate holidays during late December at all Undecided

RE: Best Central/South American Country to spend 10 days in over Christmas
Brazilian coastal cities (Florianopolis, Rio de Janeiro, Fortaleza, Salvador, Natal, etc) are in the peak of summer season during December - January and the party vibe is totally on during late December... As usually lots of people take vacation between Christmas and NYE and also there are lots of tourists from the inner regions of the country that goes to the coast to enjoy the beaches, those cities are anything but dead on those days. Bars, clubs and beaches packed basically every day of the week. You can even find parties in Christmas Eve´s night on some cities, such as Rio de Janeiro.

I wouldn´t think twice, Brazil is the place to go if you´re looking to have fun during this time of the year.

The only negative thing is that the prices of flights and hotel rooms are very expensive for the season, so you need to do your homework regarding logistics if you don´t want to spend much money.

In that case I would be curious about Vietnam in December. I have been to all of South America but not Vietnam so I can't suggest it, rather ask about it.

Brazil or Colombia, they have a reputation as being fun & more socially liberal.

If you want to stay closer to the US, probably Costa Rica

Forget Colombia, religious holidays are taken very seriously there. Both Christmas and NYE are family oriented dates, zero nightlife and lots of girls travelling to their family´s countryside estates... So late December is dead there.

Brazil is the place to go. NYE is the 2nd national pussy festival after Carnival and the days close to it have a very fun, party vibe, specially in coastal cities, as it´s the peak of the summer season (as I mentioned some posts ago).

Thank you. The amount of guys in this forum giving bullshit, misguided advice baffles me.

Thank you to those who actually know what they were talking about and gave good advice!

Ended up booking a flight to Cabo. Gonna hit up the party scene for a few days.

I second that. All the prices in Colombia are crazy as hell high. I only found 2 flights that I could cover in points. All the others are 650/670 and up to 1k range.

With all respect......Have you been to Costa Rica or Colombia during Christmas Holiday???????

I have lived in both during the Holiday. I can tell you it's dead. These are Catholic-influenced countries and they are with family during the Holiday.

Brazil maybe or Argentina but no way Costa Rica or Colombia that is the slowest of slow for what you want.

Bumping this for guys that may be looking to book flights around now for Christmas/New Year's.

Cabo San Lucas was fun last year for me, if a bit quieter than expected.

I'm still on the lookout for party locations in Central/South America with a good mix of tourists on vacation and local girls. If anyone has any suggestions, drop them here!
