On this Thanksgiving 2017, I want to list some of the things that I am thankful for. I'm doing this because gratitude is a habit and an attitude, and makes you more successful. Its not always easy, but things that are worth doing are not often easy. Also, to lead others to this habit.

As background, this is the second Thanksgiving I will spend alone. I separated from my wife a little over a year ago, and she has alienated my children from them. I am facing a gargantuan divorce settlement/alimony. I'm in my late 40s. I have had some health issues. I've been to two funerals this year. I totaled my car and then bought a lemon that replaced it. So I have a lot of stuff to feel miserable about if I chose to. But I won't allow myself to. I don't know if this is because of my inner will, the force of habit, or what Christians call grace (meaning a gift that one cannot take credit for).

1. Thankfulness/optimism. I'm thankful I am thankful and have an optimistic outlook on life. I'm not sure why I have it. I do read voraciously and have learned from others' example, so perhaps I subconsciously absorbed this habit.

2. This forum. - There are a million things on this forum to be thankful for. I have improved my game and a million tiny things from the things I have read on this forum. I'm +7 in the last 2 months even though I'm closer to 50 than 40, about 40 lbs overweight, drive a car that is breaking down, live in the suburbs (poor logistics), and don't even own a sofa, just a loveseat (long story - divorce). So what is your excuse?

Through this forum I have improved my nutrition, sleep habits, online techniques, started TRT, and a lot of things I don't even remember.

3. My job. I worked for a Fortune 500 company for 11 years and jumped to a growth company. The failure of my marriage caused me to reevaluate my relationship with my employer. I'm much happier at my new company.

4. Friends from this forum. I have made friends with guys on this forum who are 40+, divorced, and have gone through things I have such as messy divorces, alienation from their children, caring for aging parents, etc.

5. Old friends. After my divorce, I connected with some friends from before my marriage. I am thankful for the perspective these men offered me without an expectation of anything in return. Invariably they told me "it will get better," and for me it has just started to.

6. Business contacts. This was an unexpected benefit. Bit of a long story but here goes. Business contact invites me to a business meet and greet at a swanky restaurant for happy hour - drinks and heavy hors'doeoerves. I figure as long as I'm here and paying for parking, I'll invite a chick I met online for a first date. I run into another business acquaintance there and show them the pictures (she was about 25, my contacts 38-50 and married). Instant social proof. First guy invites me to his box at the local NFL team a few weeks later. Second guy offers me a personal recommendation to his former employer in connection with an unrelated opportunity where I might double my salary. All because of game.

7. Nutrition. Through this forum and other bloggers like Cernovich, I've lost about 30 pounds this year. Right now I'm drinking a smoothie and when I finish I will have had my 5 servings of vegtables and fruits already. Also taking supplements like ACV, zinc ZMA, N-acetly stysteine, lecithin and a bunch others. I'm standing on the shoulders of those who came before me.

8. Bonus - Speaking of lecithin, which I take for bigger loads, another aspect of life that is better is sex. All 7 of the girls I have been with have given BBBJ. Not only that, but either as a generational thing or due to my stronger frame, all have approached sex as if they want to impress me. The sex is better on a whole another level. One girl was sucking me off and when I told her I was close she looked at me and smiled as if to say watch me swallow it all; her confident smile turned to worry when she realized how large my lecithin-backed load was, but she took it all without spilling a drop. Another girl had average technique and combined a hand job with oral, but when I told her I was close she put my cock in her mouth so as to not waste a drop. Stuff like this didn't happen to me before I was married, even though I drove a nicer car then, was younger, had more hair and no gray, etc.

9. The ability to help others. I have had various opportunities to help other people either through coaching them or giving them advice. Other than psychic benefit, I received nothing in return. But you can't put a price on the well being this gives you, and I am perhaps most thankful for these opportunities.

So I challenge you to take a moment and purposefully consider what you have to be thankful for. It doesn't matter if you have more or less than me. What matters is your attitude and your habits. A substantial portion of my success, especially incremental from a year ago, is from the attitudes I chose to adopt. Some of these are unconscious, but you have to consciously examine your attitudes and decide if you want keep approaching life a certain way.

I'm not complete as a person, far from it, but I am thankful for the journey and the progress I have made with the help of many of you.

I'm thankful for the time, love, and parenting given to me by my father who had sole custody of me since I was 6 after his wife and my mother carried on an affair with a local cop while he was earning our family a living out of state (he was a steamfitter by trade). I returned the favor to a minuscule percentage by caring for him for the past six years after a fall led to an infection that almost led to amputation of his legs.

I am 32 - 33 tomorrow - and he passed away two months ago at the age of 73. I'm still having a difficult time with it because we were very close as father and son; he has no other children and no extended family that is either alive or in communication with; because of which, neither do I. Honestly, my eyes are getting moist just typing this.

I realize a lot of children do not have fathers in the picture at all, much less good ones that sacrificed a lot for their children, and ones that they could speak to every day up until the last moments.

So I'm thankful for that. For better or worse, I am who he nurtured and created. I am my father's son. I'm. And I'm thankful for that as well.

I'm thankful for finding the keys to my own prison and escaping my thoughts, doubts, troubles, and insecurities, so I can live the next 40 years or so of my life being happy, loving, and enjoying other people and the memories I make with them -- without judgment or expectation.

I'm thankful for my family, two sons, and the mother that birthed them.

I'm thankful for in general how comfortable my life is to the point that I have to seek breaking the comfort for growth.

I'm thankful for my health.

I'm thankful for good friends.

I'm thankful that I ignore the things that don't affect me and focus on my life and the important people in my life.

I'm thankful that I am able to eat a large feast when many others starve.

In general I'm thankful for a happy and healthy life.

I'm thankful for my flawed family, whom I'm with. I'm thankful that the economy is doing well, and for our present prosperity in America. I'm thankful for my health, and that due to following some forum tips, my libido has gone way up.

Howdy folks.

I come from a ........"hell of a family" situation .i can say through all the lows living through it all im grateful for my mother for being there when i needed it and giving tough love when it was deserved

My father is a grumpy man that doesnt go iut out much,hell i seen him 3 times this year and he doesnt live far.Two days ago was his birthday and as much as he didnt want to come out and have a drink with me he did just that. It was a bittersweet moment while we talked but im still grateful that we talked

I unexpectedly had to make a 4 hr trip to pick up my sister last night.didnt have a olace to stay so i brought her back to my mothers home.atleast i know shes save and has somewhere to lay her head


Now that i got that out the way


Im grateful for my job,my boss to exact for deciding to hire me on a whim.finally have a permanent job after working those shitty temp service gigs for the past 3 years. In turn i was able to get my self my first apartment.I move in december .

Im grateful for the slaps in the face that life has giving me as far as dealing with people.My Bullshit detector is up and running and its saved me lots of headache .

Im grateful for the redpill itself because without it id still br that naive angry miserable bastard i was just a few years ago. I still have a ling way to go but i fell i made some strides in some areas than others.

Last but not least my van.people say its a hunka shit ,but thats my hunka shit and its gotten me where i needed to be and made alot of shit possible for me to experience and see.it also was my home last winter when i slept in it for a few months.While dealing with an electrice problem it managed to hit 300,000 mils a month ago and i need to get it tuned up and the oil change.one day im gonna restore this thing to like new condition and maybe swap a v8 in it .

I am grateful for losing my wife, my children and everything I had ever earned, saved or owned in a nasty 3 year fucking horrible drawn out divorce.

I am grateful for not pulling the trigger that night when the pain was unbearable and the only way I could see to get rid of it was a long term solution to a short term problem.

I am grateful for the will, perseverance and the gifts to rebuild my life back to where I was in just 6 years.

I am grateful for every day I live with in my new improved life.

That's hard. It's good you're stronger now, and were able to put your life back together when so many men don't in that situation. Any pearls of wisdom from that experience? Would you get married again, or have anything to advise men like me to look out for when we think about getting married?

I am grateful for this amazing woman in my life. I am grateful for the knowledge imparted by my brothers in this forum and elsewhere that although she's great now, she can go feral at anytime. I'm grateful for the knowledge that she is not mine, it's just my turn. I am grateful for the knowledge that if it goes south, that just means I get to  chase new strange.  I am grateful that it's good to be a man.
