Red-pill song: Easy Lover
I was busting it in the gym this morning and what came on but "Easy Lover," the duet between the recently-solo Phil Collins and Earth Wind and Fire vocalist Philip Bailey.

(This version seems sped up somehow from other versions...normally that bothers me but it makes it jumpier so whatever.)

Aside from being a well-constructed song musically, the lyrics struck me as a rhymed-up version of a newbie forum thread:

Quote:Easy lover
She'll get a hold on you believe it
Like no other
Before you know it you'll be on your knees
She's an easy lover
She'll take your heart but you won't feel it
She's like no other
And I'm just trying to make you see

[Verse 1: Bailey]
She's the kind of girl you dream of
Dream of keeping hold of
You'd better forget it
You'll never get it
She will play around and leave you
Leave you and deceive you
Better forget it
Oh you'll regret it

[Bridge: Collins]
No you'll never change her, so leave it, leave it
Get out quick cause seeing is believing
It's the only way
You'll ever know, oh

The rest is variations on the verse, but clearly the second-person subject is involved with a deceptive, non-bonding ratchet woman. Funny how well the song expresses not just the futility of trying to make it work, but also the futility of trying to tell a friend to DTB.

RE: Red-pill song: Easy Lover
Not sure if red-pill as much it is a tale of the Borderline Personality “femme fatale”, or the more commonly echoed phrase - “don’t stick your dick in crazy”.

These pleas from friends/family often fall on deaf ears due to the hypnotic influence that such a woman can have on a man.

Hall & Oates’ “Man Eater” heeds a similar warning

These songs suck.

I'm thinking that any guy who likes these songs should be playing in Shania Twain's band in Man! I Feel Like a Woman

Shania's telling you how it is...women play men.

True.. but he got woke on the same album:

Quote:"I Don't Care Anymore" is considered 'dark' in tone, and is comparable to Collins' earlier hit single "In the Air Tonight", as both contain powerful drums along with simplistic keyboard chords and guitar riffs, coupled with angry lyrics directed at Collins' failed first marriage.

I Don't Care Anymore - Phil Collins

Quote:Well you can tell everyone I'm a down disgrace
Drag my name all over the place
I don't care anymore
You can tell everybody 'bout the state I'm in
You won't catch me crying 'cause I just can't win
I don't care anymore, I don't care anymore
I don't care what you say
I don't play the same games you play
'Cause I've been talking to the people that you call your friends
And it seems to me there's a means to and end
They don't care anymore
And as for me I can sit here and bide my time
I got nothing to lose if I speak my mind
I don't care anymore, I don't care no more
I don't care what you say
We never played by the same rules anyway
I won't be there anymore
Get out of my way
Let me by
I got better things to do with my time
I don't care anymore, I don't care anymore
I don't care anymore, I don't care anymore
Well, I don't care now what you say
'Cause every day I'm feeling fine with myself
And I don't care now what you say
Hey, I'll do alright by myself
'Cause I know
'Cause I remember all the times I tried so hard
And you laughed in my face 'cause you held all the cards
I don't care anymore
And I really ain't bothered what you think of me
'Cause all I want of you is just a let me be
I don't care anymore, d'you hear? I don't care no more
I don't care what you say
I never did believe you much anyway
I won't be there no more
So get out of my way
Let me by
I got better things to do with my time
I don't care anymore
D'you hear? I don't care anymore
I don't care no more
You listening? I don't care no more
No more!
You know I don't care anymore!
Don't care no more! No more, no more, no more
Don't care, no more, no more, no more, no more, no more, no more, no more
No more, no more, no more, no more, no more, no more

* On a personal note, that song (I Don’t Care Anymore) was on the radio when I left my lawyer’s office after making a significant move in my divorce.

That's a decent song lyrically but nowhere as good musically as Maneater or Easy Lover which are classics of their era. Shania Twain was smoking in her prime though.

Aside from "You Can't Hurry Love" being a cover of a Motown song, Phil wound up divorced twice paying something like 90 million pounds of alimony.

If you want a full college-level education in dysfunctional male/female dynamics just listen to Fleetwood Mac.

RE: Red-pill song: Easy Lover
Specifically about Phil Collins, his first wife cucked him, as beside "I Don't Care Anymore", "In the Air Tonight" also touched on the subject of Anglo female infidelity AND his getting cucked.

Keep in mind Phil got cucked the same time Thatcher was UK PM, a decade before the Spice Girls started hyping "GIRL POWER" to the Anglosphere airwaves.

Yes, and they are mostly singing and writing from personal experience.

John and Christine McVie were married and then divorced.

Stevie Nicks was in relationships with Lindsay Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood.
