Approach #45

I went indirect on a brunette. She was carrying a digital camera, so I opened her with the old "is that a good camera?" line.

She was friendly (and very attractive), and happy to talk about her camera. I rambled a long time and dropped 4 different baits; none of which she bit.

Eventually I just got the vibe that she wasn't super interested in me, so I wished her a good day and left.

Interestingly enough, she was only the 3rd or 4th Melbournian I've spoken with since starting this challenge. Most of the girls I approach tend to be from overseas (Melbourne is a bit of a Mecca for fat hipster chicks).

Indirect. I approached a blonde in my usual park. She was older and less attractive than I realised when I saw her up close. Exit, stage left!

It was a quiet old Wednesday and there wasn't much talent out on the streets today. I'm in need of a new book, so I used this down time to do some bookshopping.

I picked up a copy of "Gulliver's Travels", the woman working in the shop wrapped my new book in a paper bag and sealed the top of the bag with masking tape. I went back down to my park, carrying my paper-bag-wrapped book under my arm. I was about to open this bag so I could take my book out and do some reading, when I spotted a pair of young-looking girls (I would guess 17 or 18) walking past.

"Excuse me."

"Yeah?" They asked and stopped.

"I'm struggling to open this bag. I noticed you both have long fingernails, could one of you give me a hand opening this?"

As I'm writing this I'm chuckling at how retarded this opener was. I'm a grown man; very capable of opening a paper bag. But one of the girls (the lesser attractive, but still bangable one), jumped at the opportunity.

"Sure! I can do it!"

I mentioned that "biting my nails has now come back to bite me," which this girl laughed way too hard at. I could tell she was interested in me. However, her friend had already started walking off at this point, so she followed her. As she was walking off with her friend she looked back over her shoulder and gave me a flirty little smile and wave.

God damn this would've been a good set if I had a wingman with me.

I approached another blonde in the park. This woman was also older than I thought (34). We spoke for 10 minutes. She was a traveler from the UK who seemed to be doing the whole 'Eat Pray Love' thing. She was in Australia for a week, then she was heading off to South East Asia.

I just wasn't attracted enough in her to ask for her number.

Approach #49

Best set of the day. I did another indirect approach on a sexy American brunette. She seemed really interested in me, and she was asking me personal questions very early into the interaction (my name, age, where I was from). I didn't bother with GALNUC with this girl, we just had a regular chat. She was as flirty as you can expect any girl you approach during the day to be: she complimented my outfit and told me that I was "looking good."

I suggested that we get a drink and her face lit-up.

"Sure, I'd love that!"

She put her full name in my phone and told me to text her. This is a really solid lead. However, she's not in town for long. I can't remember if she said she's only here until Friday or if it was Saturday. If it's Friday, that's going to be an issue, as I'm busy both nights (date tonight with the girl I met jumping off the tram, and then night shift tomorrow).

I'll message her in a few hours.

I had a bit of time to kill before my date tonight. I was walking along this bridge that goes over a big river and leads into the city. I noticed a girl standing by the end of the bridge, looking out over the river and admiring the view. She was probably only a 6. Cute face and a nice arse, but a little bit chubby. I decided to approach her anyway.

I went up and stood next to her, like I was admiring the view as well. I couldn't think of anything to say...

"Beautiful view, isn't it?" Is what eventually came out of my mouth.

"Mmmm." Was all she offered in reply.

"This had to be one of the prettiest views in Australia... The only thing I can think off that comes close was some of the hilltop views I saw when I was living in New Zealand."

"Yeah, I don't really come into the city very often, so I'm just taking it in."

"Oh, you're not from Melbourne?"

"No. I live out in Dandenong."

Dandenong is a suburb outside of Melbourne that has a reputation for being a shithole. So I teased her about that...

"Oh, wow that must be terrible. I'm so sorry."

"Hey! It's not that bad!" She replied.

"It's funny, you sound a bit English." I told her.

"I am. I moved here with my family when I was 15."

Our conversation carried on like that for a while. I ran GALNUC on her, but she told me that she had a boyfriend when I asked for her number.

After that approach I went and had a date with the blonde American. She arrived looking fantastic. She's a very naturally attractive girl.

I took her to my usual little bar that I take my dates to. The date was OK, but she seemed a bit cold towards me tonight. She mentioned that she had to be up early the next day and that she could only stay for the one drink. I made two attempts at touching her, both of which she pulled away from. At the end of the date she told me that she'd like to see me again but she's "really busy for the next two weeks."

I don't have particularly high hopes of a second date happening.

Rehearse a few lines for the "camera game". An accusation always trumps adjuration.

"Hey, you won't fool me (said with a big smirk), I can clearly see this is a spy-camera. You're Russian, even if you're a brunette" (whilst your fingers find their way into her hair strands).

"Excuse me, but I couldn't help but notice that with that camera you look like a professional ornithologist. Which bird is your favourite? (said with a gentle forward thrust of your pelvis)"

The two set, it's better to either engage both or clearly indicate early on whom you really like. Be flirty. If you like girl B, ask A unashamedly: "A, do you mind if I flirt a bit with B? She seems to like me very much" (befriending & placating A by making her a "leader", then a simple, yet bold assumption & flipping the script which can win a whole set)?

Either way, you seem doing incredibly well, keep pushing the boundaries.

I was in a food court, eating a chicken sandwich: a bit of protein for energy before I started work. I noticed a Spanish-looking girl carrying a bowl of soup and sitting down a few tables away from me. I also noticed, as this girl was sitting down, that she had an amazing, curvy arse.

I actually laughed a little bit; there's a 'what if' exercise in 'Daybang' where you have to pretend you're in this exact scenario and you have to come up with an opener. I got up and approached her.

"Exuse me."

"Yes?"

I couldn't help noticing that you're eating the Moroccan chicken soup. I was tossing up between that and the chicken sandwich. I went with the sandwich, but now I'm regretting it. Is the soup good?"

"Yeah, it's really good! Do you want to try some?" She said, offering me the bowl.

"No no, I couldn't steal your food. Is it spicy?"

I rambled about soup for another minute or so. She was smiling and laughing, but she didn't ask any questions about me or give me any information I could work with.

I ended up bailing out of this conversation way too early. And I was angry at myself for doing so.

I'm going to re-read the food court part of daybang over the weekend. Actually, I'm going to re-read the entire book.

Important is the date above. Did you go for "sit back and let her invest" (she talks most) or "most interesting guy in the world" (game)? Her arriving somewhat cold compared to when you first met implies something in the background, and/or she needed to be actively "gamed". She may have opened up with basic questions about her family, who knows, but she could have required a lot more than that. Do you have any ideas as to where you might have gone wrong on the date? After all collecting numbers are one thing but converting them is where the success comes.

^ Funny that you mention that. For the most part I was sitting back and letting her do most the talking. Although, towards the end, after I realised that she was doing all the talking; I switched to 'most interesting man in the world' mode. She responded well to this, makes me think that I should've done that from the beginning.

I just shot her a ping text now. It'll be interesting to see what or if she replies.

I also did another approach today. This was a weird one. I'll write about it when I get home from work.

I approached a blonde at my tram stop on the way into work today. I used my usual public transport stop opener and ramble, she took my bait and we fell into a conversation. She was a bit older (I'm guessing mid 30's), but she still looked good. Although, I'm currently in week five for 'The Roosh Program' (minus the Seinfeld)... http://www.rooshv.com/the-roosh-program. As a result of this my libido is through the roof and every girl is looking really good to me.

Anyway things were going along well. She mentioned that she was heading into the city to do some shopping; I asked her how she got the Friday off work...

Her eyes were getting teary and her voice was all choked up.

"I just couldn't face work today." She told me; she sounded like she was going to cry.

This approach was not really going according to plan. I felt a bit awkward and didn't really know what to say. I wanted to change the subject, so I ran 'GALNUC' on her. Actually, I ran 'GLNU' on her - I didn't ask the A part, because she looked a bit older and I thought asking might be a bit rude. Also, I didn't do the C, as I didn't feel comfortable asking for the number in this situation.

This might have been an excellent opportunity. A girl on rebound can be a quick victory. If it isn't you, she'll get under someone else soon. Why not persist? Perhaps a bit gentler but still could've rolled the dice. I think changing the topic was the right thing to do. After a couple minutes just mild qualifier and hail mary with "you seem cool, we should keep in touch, what's your number?" If you've already opened and played the game, making the final attack should've been default. But we live and learn.

All you have to do is to give a shoulder. You do not need to fix that problem. There is a sudden big void in her life. you can fill it.

.. and you can ask the number as a kind of compliment to her. Maybe you won't call ever. Maybe you afraid for failure, don't do so many approaches, and you know many will fail. But if you not finish the approach, it does not count as a full approach.

Are you getting feedback from anyone in real life? That is, do you have wings that can observe you in-person, or are you only getting feedback through these text exchanges at RVF?

To be frank it sounds like you're doing some form of 'spam approaching' in the sense that you don't seem to do much screening before initiating contact. This type of approach has implications for your sense of success, self-worth and more. Keep in mind these are only tentative observations - it's hard to draw firm conclusions about any approach described online. In any case I respect your overall effort which is why I'm reaching out.

As noted in private, if you want some more nuanced feedback then feel free to get at me off-forum. I also might have some pickup contacts in your hood. Due to my workload I won't be able to provide detailed comments online for a while, however I can share my thoughts with you through voice comms (or a meetup if I'm in town sometime).

No, I don't know any current daygamers in Melbourne. I head out 100% solo and I get all my feedback through this form. I actually really enjoying going out solo though.

Approach #53

I wasn't planning on doing any approaches today. My energy levels, on a one-to-ten scale, were at a negative four. I drunk too much wine last night and didn't get nearly enough sleep.

However, while I was in the city this morning, running a few errands, I saw a tall girl with long brown hair walk past. I decided to go approach her.

I opened her directly; she just walked off after my opener, barely acknowledging my existence. I walked with her anyway and kept trying to talk (mistake), I was trying to vibe with her despite the fact she wasn't hooked yet (another mistake). She was being very cold: she didn't smile at all, and if I asked a question, she would reply with a one (or no) word answers​.

Needless to say, I didn't stay in this set for very long.

An hour or so later I was on the tram, heading home to get some sleep. I noticed a sexy brunette hop on the tram a few stops after I did. She was dressed really well and she had a nice figure. I told myself that if she gets off at the same stop as I do, I'd approach her. Sure enough she did, so I did.

This interaction went a lot better than the previous one (not like that's hard though). She was a friendly 27 year old who had just moved to Melbourne from New Zealand. She was actually on her way to a job interview, but she was running half an hour early, so she had plenty of time to stay and chat with me. I got her number, but she was a bit hesitant to give it to me. Makes me think that I should've stayed in set a bit longer and built more attraction. But as I said earlier, I was tired and hungover, so I couldn't really be arsed. I'll text her tonight.

This one actually happened yesterday, but I didn't get time to write it up.

After going home and taking a much-needed nap; I was on my way to my visit my parents for dinner at their house. I indirectly opened a short, but seriously attractive, latina outside the train station. We talked for two minutes, but then she had to catch her train. I didn't ask for her number because we hadn't been talking for long and I felt that I hadn't built enough attraction yet. I should've just tried anyway.

Fantastic work.

It's a testament that in such a difficult city, a goal-driven men can produce excellent results daytime. However, a typical pattern begins to emerge - it isn't bad thing per se, it just illustrates how things are - that easiest and fastest lays happen with girls that aren't local, aren't firmly unmeshed in the fabric of their social lives. A happy, socially adjusted girl, living all her live in a city, with her parents, extensive social circle and friends, and many suitors, will be less open to risking her social reputation by engaging in fast, adventure sex with a stranger. Skunk Hunt has voiced this line of thought ad infinitum in the Poland thread. And I don't disagree. There are particularities of each set that make the odds better or worse.

To the contrary of the above, a single, tourist girl (and from the US especially) will be far more open to an adventure, consequences-free sex (even more so if she's recently broken up with her boyfriend and is ovulating) with a good-looking, confident and charismatic man. Your job (or every man for that matter) is to learn how to spot these sets and maximise the chances of sex happening fast. Looks like Bizet is endowed with some innate talent. Congrats.

I had an hour to kill before starting work (nightshift) so I went into the city to do a few approaches.

I saw this blonde who was easily an 8: tall, skinny, long hair, tight black top and a long blue dress. I approached her indirectly. She didn't seem that interested in me, and even if she was, she was from a country town two hours away from the city. So the logistics weren't great.

Another indirect approach on a cute, redheaded Welsh who was sitting in a park and reading a book. She wasn't rude or cold, but she didn't give me much to work with either. Eventually I ran out of things to say, felt awkward and left.

I still had a bit of spare time before starting work, so I decided to try another direct approach. The streets were pretty crowded with people on their way home from work. For some reason I find this to be the most difficult situation to approach in. I caught four different girls giving me IOI's, one of them was a particularly attractive blonde, but I backed out of all four approaches. I was really annoyed with myself, then decided to call it quits. I went to a cafe, brought an iced coffee and wrote this post on my phone.

Yep. Knowing that other people can overhear your approach, and potentially your rejection, definitely makes things more intimating.

Nothing wrong with mum/daughter combo. Also, if you get used to approaching 2- and 3-sets, a lone girl will be piece of cake. Just accept being rejected and strip off all the buffers holding you back. You got only one life and each day one day less. And don't forget that in a transient, public space, the street has no memory. And actually, no one cares.

This one happened 10 mins ago. I saw a cute blonde, maybe 18 or 19 years old, walk into a supermarket. I followed her in there.

She was in the baking section, and looked as if she was struggling to find something. I wandered up next to her, not sure what was going to come out of my mouth...

"Are you also trying to find the cake mix?" I asked.

"No, I'm trying to find candles," she told me.

"Cake mix is there," she added, and pointed at the boxes of cake mix right in front of me.

"Oh, do you know if it's good cake mix?" I asked.

"Yeah. I really like this one!" She said, pointing to the box of chocolate cake mix.

We chatted for a few minutes. I found out that she actually works in a cake shop. I joked about the fact I was asking her about cakes, not knowing she works in "the cake industry," and she joked that she's actually "Jamie Oliver in a wig," (cool girl). We talked for a few minutes more, then she told me that she has to get back to work and left.

She did mention the name of the cake shop she works at though. Should I go in there and ask her out? Or would that be stalker like?

I did another supermarket/grocery store approach today. This time it was on a French cutie who was browsing in the yoghurt section. I opened her by asking her if the tub of yoghurt she was holding was good; I then tried to ramble from there. I dropped some bait, but she didn't bite. I got the vibe that she wasn't really interested in me. She politly ejected herself from the conversation after a minute.

I was quite impressed with the amount of attractive girls who were shopping for groceries on a Sunday afternoon. I need to re-read the grocery store section of Daybang.
