The world of SJWs just gets weirder and weirder.

In their quest to socially engineer every facet of human behavior, "educators" at a Utah school have issued a rule that kids (i.e. girls) cannot say "no" when asked to dance because "inclusiveness."

I'm already laughing because the *other* SJWs who preach "no means no!" are sure to be blowing fuses over this. What better way to train girls to think they can't say "no" than at their first school dance?

The real question is why adults today feel the need to micromanage the lives of kids. That's probably because a few years ago they were the college students who felt the need to micromanage everyone's sex lives.

Utah Mom Upset After School Tells 6th-Graders They Can’t Say No When Asked to Dance

A school dance rule described by a school district in Weber County, Utah as a way to teach inclusiveness raised concerns for one student's mother, KTLA sister station KSTU reported Thursday.

When Natalie Richard’s sixth-grade daughter told her she couldn’t say “no” if a boy asked her to dance at Kanesville Elementary’s Valentine’s Day dance, she didn’t believe it at first.

“Oh no, no honey," Richard said of her reply. "You guys are misunderstanding again. That’s not how it is."

However, after speaking to her daughter’s teacher, she realized the statement was accurate.

“The teacher said she can’t," Richard said. "She has to say yes. She has to accept and I said, 'Excuse me.'"

Richard took her concerns to the school principal.

“He basically just said they’ve had this dance set up this way for a long time and they’ve never had any concern before,” she said of his response.

Lane Findlay with the Weber School District confirms it’s a rule, but he said it’s meant to teach students how to be inclusive.

“Please be respectful, be polite," Findlay said. "We want to promote kindness, and so we want you to say yes when someone asks you to dance."

“I do see it from their perspective when it comes to that, but there are many other ways to teach children how to be accepting than with a social dance,” Richard counters.

Richard believes forcing students not to say no teaches them the wrong lesson.

“Psychologically, my daughter keeps coming to me and saying I can’t say 'no' to a boy," she said. "That’s the message kids are getting. Sends a bad message to girls that girls have to say 'yes'; sends a bad message to boys that girls can’t say 'no,'" Richard said.

Prior to the dance, which is voluntary, students are told to fill out a card by selecting five people they want to dance with. The administration says if there’s someone on the card you feel uncomfortable with, the student is encouraged to speak up.

“If there is an issue, if there’s students that are uncomfortable or have a problem with another student, I mean: that’s certainly something that can be addressed with that student and parents,” Findlay said.

However, Richard says rejection is part of life and at the end of the day, this policy is sending impressionable children the wrong message.

“Psychologically, my daughter keeps coming to me and saying I can’t say 'no' to a boy," she said. "That’s the message kids are getting."

One of the concerns that Richard addressed with the principal at Kanesville Elementary is that parents weren’t aware of this policy.

She recommended he send out a permission slip, detailing the instructions given to students, and he agreed. As of now, the rule remains in place.

I'll say this much, back when I was going to the local equivalent of the US high school prom in the, shall we say, late eighties, we were all told as a class (guys and girls) that it would be bad fucking form to refuse a dance from someone who asked, even if they were the ugliest fucker in the class. I'm paraphrasing here, of course. As a result, people were pretty well ashamed in advance of turning down a dance at the school ball, and I don't remember anyone actually being turned down at all.

You've got to understand that for some of us bluepills who frankly were shit-scared of talking to girls let alone asking them to dance, this was a little drop of human decency, about the best chance you had to even get to hold or get close to a girl in all your high school years. The fact I can still remember it tells you how much I appreciated that at the time.

Sure. For boys. You have to have a face like fucking lasagna as a girl not to get asked for a dance in school, it just does not happen that way. I'd bet that if she had a boy for a child, it'd be a vastly different story. Fucking narcissist, I guess this issue still gets me riled up all these years later. How'd she feel if her little precious girl gets told 'no' repeatedly, nobody asks her out to a dance at all, I wonder? I doubt she's ever been rejected about anything in her life.

Another extension of helicopter parenting.

I get it, rejection can be brutal, but it's all part of a learning curve. When rules like this are formalised, they remove the element of risk and by the same token, the reward.

Kids need to learn how to make their own way in life without running to mama (or teacher) whenever things don't go their way, or as Jordan Peterson puts it in 12 rules for life - "don't bother kids when they're skateboarding".

My grandfather grew up in the 1950's and today would be considered King of Shitlords. Back then at the school dance the teachers made sure every single girl had a boy to dance with, and if there was a girl that the boys weren't asking... then the teachers would find some boys and force them to dance with her. Now my 12 year old grandfather showed up at the dance so that he could sneak out with his buddies and get drunk. However, before he could get away one mean old woman of a teacher caught him and told him he must ask a girl to dance... and demanded that he give her a compliment when the dance was done.

The only girl without a partner was the town's fat girl. My grandfather sidled up to her with a grin and asked her to dance. They waddled through a song and at the end he says "Boy... You don't sweat much for a fat girl!" Dance concluded he quickly escaped to go drinking leaving the rather rotund girl huffing and puffing angrily.

Now, I heard this story from one of his friends over visiting us at Christmas time. When the story concluded my grandfather looked at all the boys in my family and said with a straight face... "It is very important in life to give women compliments from time to time."

A polite girl always accepts a dance or two. A polite girl doesn’t go to a social event where ruffians or undesirables might be in attendance. Basic manners. That’s what I tell my daughter.

Ah the good old times. Back then the teachers were more concerned about girls not getting any dances. Now they are concerned about boys getting brutal rejections with nuclear shit-tests like in a club, so that the girls can make fun of the awkward boy who tried to ask her for a dance.

I would not force the girls to say yes all the time, but as Paracelsus put it - a strong recommendation that it's polite not to refuse is not so bad.

Guess the bitches want to create the cavemen sexual markets of 80% of the girls wanting to dance with 20% of the boys while the other 80% of boys awkwardly stand on the sidelines.

Obviously this dance is run by people who want to teach little boys to overcome approach anxiety, and to teach girls to be feminine.

And, this dance sounds like it is a lot more fun than the current year school dances, where boys either stand in the corner (or never show up in the first place), and the girls stand in a closed off circle glued to their iPhones while secretly waiting for Chad to burst through the bitch shield. (Maybe the girls also dance in the close circle glued to their iPhones).

In the old days, femininity was encouraged. Unfeminine behavior like shunning dance partners to hold out for chad would be shamed for the unfun party killing behavior that it is. Of course, this put social behavior responsibilities on the men too. All of that is lost.

I guess it doesn’t occur to the mother that nothing teaches you appreciate something than having it taken away.

I believe the solution to a whole bunch of rejected boys in situations like this, is boys(and girls, I guess) are allowed to take a girl from the year below. And the girls from the year below really want to go because status and what-have-you, so even really beta dudes can find a decent girl from the year below because the girls want it more.

I remember when I was about 12, so 1994 or so and our second school dance of the year was cancelled because one student’s mom complained that her son felt excluded because no girls wanted to dance with him. He was a dorky faggot then and 24 years later, still is. So the school shut it down but then the parents organized a dance at a local fire hall, pussy mcfuckface didn’t show up.

If the schools insist on enforcing rules that the kids and parents don’t like, there’s ways around it but it’s still a shame that they’re enforcing rules like this. The earlier kids learn about winners and losers or, human fucking nature, the better.

This deserves its own thread, but for now I'll add it here.

At a California high school, the student body president, Ariyana Kermanizadeh, had her school ban the National Anthem from being played before sporting events because it's not "inclusive" enough. This is what happens when you preach the gospel of "inclusiveness" to kids.

The third verse, which is never sung, apparently contains some offensive words. She asked "What does this tell us?" I hear echoes of these busybody school teachers who want to control dances in her deeds and words.

IMO no one here really wants "inclusiveness." They want control over the behavior of others. And this is what you get when you give them an inch.

Look on the bright side: three years ago, this same mother would probably have instead been griping that her tweener daughter was not allowed to go to the dance tarted up like a cheap hooker.

She's in the avant garde of the social shift here. Overnight, trend-following mommies have shifted from being outraged over "slut shaming" and "misogyny" to being neurotic about "rape culture". That too will be taken to ridiculous extremes by some, but it may in the process temper the sluttiness and degeneracy of the rest. Women are trend-followers - if the trend is towards more prudish behavior, it may drag even the less avant garde along to varying degrees.

Picture a sail on a sailboat. The wind shifts, the middle of the sail follows the wind as far as it can go - but every other point on the sail follows to lesser degree. The extremists can drag everyone else along, but only so far.
