I'm looking for a part time job that I can do from home. But the vast majority of remote jobs are very technical. Does anyone know where I might find something that's quite easy to do and is part time?

Service calls. I know someone who has a company with employees who stay at home and just have to answer calls on their phone during certain hours. They are outsourced customer service for various companies, provided with a script. If the script fails, they use google to help the customer. Requires zero knowledge, just time.

Believe it or not, I'm starting to think that curriculum developer might be a largely unexploited niche where significant demand exists.

There are job boards dedicated to just those types of jobs. From my searches a little more than half of remote jobs tend to be tech but that's just how it is:

flexjobs.com(have to pay for a subscription).
remoteok.io
weworkremotely.com
angel.co(sign-up and search for jobs listed "remote ok").
VIP KID or any of the other, mostly Chinese, online teacher gigs.

OP, what are your skills?

I checked out a couple of the sites. most seems to be tech. Does anybody know what some of that stuff pays? The somewhat lower level stuff?

I tried flexjobs paid subscription a couple of times for 2-3 months each time. Not worth it in my opinion, though it probably depends on the industry.

You can just search for remote jobs on indeed (type "remote" in the location section).

Headhunting can be done remotely. You find candidates through LinkedIn for your clients, do an interview through Skype, and get a cut if the candidate you referred is hired.

I once spoke to someone at length about how this game is really played. I'm sure there are enough people just browsing profiles on LinkedIn, but the real magic is in getting entire companies' list of staff and their positions.

The big money is in convincing highly sought after individuals to change jobs. These folks are often in a great position already and haven't made their contact information public in a way that would be easy to locate him.

The serious players in this game will spend weeks getting receptionists to give them the phone numbers of the whole spectrum of top talent at a corporation. Then when a relevant position comes up, they have a database of potential targets that just about no one knows how to contact. They can make offers to people who weren't even looking.

The smartest way of getting into this game would probably be to work as someone's information collector, doing the repetitive, boring work to track down people's contact info. Do that for half a year and you might know enough about how the game works to strike it out on your own.

The biggest challenge will probably be marketing your services to companies willing to pay top dollar for access to top talent that isn't actively seeking a job, but might be tempted by a highly competitive offer.
