Whenever a girl is interested in me, I flirt with them for a bit. Then I just in general stop talking - usually because I am busy. They then buy me a gift, and I usually reply with a thanks. But then afterwards they seem to be very frosty to me, like they hate me? This has happened 4 times now - and all 4 of those girls had crushes on me?

Um we need more context. stop talking to them in person? Stop seeing them? Stop texting them? What do you do after saying "thanks"? Are you saying "What a thoughtful gift?" what are they giving you??

Like I respond less, if I see them I usually won't approach. I make myself unavailable - most of the times this isn't even on purpose I just have better stuff to do. They then give me a gift, and usually I give a hug and say thanks. I act the same still.

I get like chocolates and other things like that. Tbf I have been given a few odd gifts like mouthwash before - me and that girl were talking about mouthwash like 2 weeks ago...

You respond less and don't approach when you see them and you're wondering why it fizzles out? You have it completely backwards, with women you like you're supposed to escalate not deescalate.

Sometimes when women are showing a lot of interest there's the temptation to just sit back and not reciprocate. You have to give a little back or they will eventually give up and disown you for being too cool for school.

I am more interested in the gifts than anything else here. Really no joke and just respect. What were the gifts and what was the psychology behind in giving them? It is quite unusual for 4 girls to be giving a guy a gift especially nowadays where 3rd wave feminism dominates.

Everyone is 16/17. Country is England - although most of these girls had ethnic/immigrant parents they were all born and raised in England like me. None of them are chavs or lower class. They are all middle or upper class. I am of a working class background - not a chav though.
