First of all, thanks to this whole forum for existing. It has helped me tremendously when picking places to travel.

I'm a "Youtuber" and started my thing in California when I studied there, and I see this place as way easier to keep up networking and hustle.

But since I'm European I'm not drowning in opportunities to become a US citizen.
Also, Tijuana is way nicer on the bank account.

Has anyone heard of non-US citizens who have lived close to the border, and successfully crossed the border whenever they wanted to?

I would imagine going there at least 10-12 times per year - several days per month.

I think the officers are mostly worried about whether crossers are trying to live or work there. So if I'm just going for short visits - a few days/weeks, it may look like I'm just visiting friends, so the chances should then be better for passing through smoothly, right?

^Norwegian Passport? Probably shouldn't have any problems. But after a few runs you should probably expect to be searched crossing (probably think you're running drugs) as your situation will be quite unique I'd think.

Yes Norwegian. Im fine with being searched for drugs cause they won't find any.

But can they just say, "you're going here too much" and stop me with no other reason?

All i'll be doing is stay with friends, other Youtubers, maybe film youtube vids yes but not directly make money in US or do any work under the table.

If you're going there 10-12 times a year you will 100% be denied entry at some point and turned back. This is mostly because TSA/border control are completely retarded and will deny you entry, hold you cause of security reasons for hours causing you to miss your flight and other retarded bullshit because they love to abuse your power. If you are going to the states that often you will once in a while be denied entry. But as far as a full on ban from you ever being allowed in again that probably won't happen.

I don't think you will have any problem whatsoever. Thousands of people do that everyday. Very common to live in TJ because it's cheap. Supposedly it's the busiest border crossing in the world. It's a great opportunity if you don't need to be in SD everyday.

If you're only going 10-12 times a year for a few days each time you'll have no problems, thats less than once a month and not a huge number of days per year. Loads of people who work in tech or finance travel to the US that regularly on European passports.

As an aside, have you been to Tijuana? To put it bluntly, its a shithole. If you're under 30 and a European passport holder you might look into living in Canada for a year as an alternative. Its extremely easy to get a 1 year working visa for Canada. It would be more expensive, but way way more livable than TJ.

Back in the late 2000s you could roll into TJ just with an ID and come back no problem. Of course it's different now but lots of my Mexican friends still live in TJ and commute to San Diego. So I don't see any issues.

Tijuana itself has a lot of hot pussy roaming about town at any given time right? I think the main thing you have to be careful about there is that the P4P scene is big there. Probably a lot of chicks in the area might be moonlighting as hookers so be careful. Could be a fine line in TJ.

As far as your economic strategy I think it has potential. Just be careful not to piss off the wrong people. If I'm not mistaken there is a lot of corruption & some crime that goes on around there. A San Diego area dude I used to be buddies with (previously in Chicago) got robbed once in Tijuana but he was probably drunk as fuck too. This was quite a few years ago (maybe 9 or 10 years ago).

How is your Spanish? You will need it. Have you been to TJ? It is not as inexpensive as you think to live in a decent area. It would be helpful if you shared more information as to your situation. One thing that can be assured Jesus (Pronounced “Hey Soos” in Spanish), you will have a common name with the general population in Mexico. I’m sure you didn’t find that to be true in Norway, so it may be a second home to you.

TJ is dangerous. I’ve been shaken down there a few times and once the police brought me to jail where I was slopping around in a layer of sewage while in a cell. It was a fake drug plant on me. Fortunately a bribe got me out. Be ready for some shenanigans, its only a matter of time before it happens to you. There are plenty of normal girls in TJ. “Las Pulgas” dance club is a lot of fun and huge. Go there. The party on Fri/Sat goes till the sun comes up. You will meet many people in the service industry that speak English, however several of them are felons/cons deported from the USA. There is a constant need to be on guard constantly in TJ, so this may wear on you as a longer term resident. I was there to watch the World Cup a couple weeks ago as I enjoy watching soccer games down there as the general level of interest is higher than the USA.

My advice: Look into some nicer areas to the South such as the town of Rosarito. There are condos near the “K38” area with good surf year round. You will need to wear a wetsuit year round as there is ironically colder water than in San Diego although further South. A second option I think better than TJ would be the port city of Ensanada. A local told me this weekend that there are solid girls to be found in the Universities there. English will be higher in these locations. You will also have the added bonus of the cruise ship dropping off fresh girls once a week from the Long Beach booze Carnival Cruise.

Hehe I can't believe Las Pulgas (The Fleas) is still around. I've had some fun nights there downing some beers and chasing pussy with my Mexican friends.

WashedUpVet is right, you will eventually get shaken down or have some bad experience with the cops. Of the 20+ I've been there the only times I had problems were always with the cops. On more than one occasion they checked my ID and wouldn't give it back until we either paid them off or took them to a bar.

Had a friend get hit in the head with a pipe in a TJ parking lot. Don't get into arguments with people. If you do apologize and run away from the situation asap.

Honestly TJ is a lot of fun despite the risks. Some of the girls are real lookers but they also bring lots of risk, whether they are pro or not.
