Do you guys think hobbies/sports that make you more well rounded (bjj surfing tennis etc) help you get laid. As in you meet a girl I'm the day/night and you mention you do x not do you think that doing x actually makes you more interestesting and likely to get laid?

Same thing with reading do you guys think being more well read makes you more interesting and more likely to get laid.


Obviously these things are worth doing otherwise and people should do what they enjoy but everyone always talks about looks but i think cultivating an interesting personality and having cool skills is under talked about in ge

This should be in the newbie section.

In short, yes, being an interesting man helps you with women and in all facets of life.

Hobbies and reading can directly or indirectly help you meet women.

Directly, specifically in class situations, you have an in that is plausible deniability for meeting a girl, as your interests are aligned (ie. if you meet in a dancing class or a yoga class etc.). Just be good at whatever that activity is, because then you will be seen as the situational alpha.

Indirectly, having hobbies and activities you do on a regular basis simply make you a more interesting person. It's that simple. You have experiences you can relate to and speak about at length, and passions that most people do not have. Reading helps you to build ideas about pretty much anything in the world, and convey these ideas to the rest of the world.

This is the basis of "lifestyle" in that making yourself better as a man directly influences your SMV and ability to meet and seduce women. Game in 2018 is moreso about building an awesome lifestyle than it is about doing 100 approaches a week or whatever.

Hobbies and books don't generally get you laid.

I'm a philosophy / economics major, theology minor, and attorney. My entire house is filled with books, and my Kindle might explode on you all it's so full. I kayak, hike, offroad, do jiu jitsu, smoke cigars, write a law blog (that I haven't written on in awhile), cook exotic foods, give lectures on real estate law, fish, hunt, cycle, travel, and play a little guitar. Hell, I even have a few bucks in my pocket and restore old cars.

You know how many girls that gets me? Zero. It makes my life more fulfilling, and me more enjoyable to be around. But none of it translates into directly getting laid. This stuff helps to facilitate LTRs with relatively well adjusted women, but not really with your hot industry chicks and Instagram models. The guy in ripped jeans slanging tequila in a dive bar has just as good a chance banging the THOT sitting next to me while I'm in a suit. Probably better. Women don't get turned on by your deep analysis of Plutarch -- most won't even understand it.

In my experience, the guys who get the most poon? Bartenders, promoters, DJs, YouTube "celebrities", professional athletes, servers, bouncers. Guys who are around hot women all the time.

I'm not trying to discourage you from being an interesting, educated, and well rounded human being. It's just not the fast track to getting laid.

Comes down to what you want out of life, and where you feel your time is best spent.

I think I disagree and would say yes because in combination with game I've learned how to retell my pitch about myself better. Some girls like the rescue mission stories,surf almost drowning stuff,and water survival Theory while others are more responsive to my international family.

So night game unless it's a high end hotel bar that's quiet being interesting won't help. For parties and such I think it can help in the smoking areas.

They can help, but you shouldn't have a hobby to get laid, you should partake in a hobby because you enjoy doing it.

I play guitar, and it has helped me get laid in that it's a good closing tool or if I have a show it's a good way to demonstrate value. I never got into with women in mind, it just became my main creative outlet.

Interesting hobbies and book learning help you get laid indirectly. No chick is going to jump your bones because you spend your time doing something other than videogames, but it gives you something more interesting to talk about.

I don't know if it's a hobby, but traveling to foreign countries is easily the best return on investment in terms of poon (other than becoming famous). Think about it. You get poon during the trip, pick up the local language, and crazy adventures that you can tell to starry eyed girls back home.

Look at Anthony Bourdain. Educated, well traveled, wealthy, interesting... and he had a lot of issues with women cucking him.

I know a lot of doctors, lawyers, architects, accountants, engineers, professors, and businessmen who are awful with women. In contrast, I know a lot of "internet CEOs", bartenders, and DJs who clean up. Candidly, I've found the latter does better on the whole.

There are a lot of issues here...

- The most successful men spend their time mostly around other men. My clientele is about 90% men, as are other lawyers who make it in this profession for ten years.
- Most women don't want to actually be intellectually challenged, nor do they have an interest. For the most part, your "smart, independent" women just post stuff about Trump on Facebook and wear pussy hats to protests. Rah rah, abortion good, Trump bad, love trumps hate! Put a picture of us protesting on Instagram! So intellectual.
- Women want excitement and passion. "I drafted these sweet documents" or "I closed a big deal today" just isn't "sexy." "I wrote a new song on my guitar, lets smoke some weed and I'll sing it to you" is.
- Given the amount of variety out there and rise of swipe apps, Instagram, etc., women are favoring good looks over success and well rounded interests. "Wow, he has a good job" isn't as important as how cool his Instagram is. This isn't a complaint, it's simply an observation. Most of my attractive female friends are "industry", and they date other industry guys (with some exceptions).

The aspie equation is essentially (SMV) x (approaching/interacting with girls) x (style) x (social status/fame) x (environment/geographical location) = sexual success

if hobbies give you greater access to attractive to women, or increase your status, then yes, they help.

For example musicianship, often thought of as inherently attractive, is completely worthless in my experience. It's only if your musicianship increases your status that it becomes attractive to women (such as being on stage, or having fame from your music).

Likewise, a hobby like being a photographer or DJ is inherently not attractive, unless it's leveraged in social situations that gives you status or female access. Being a photographer of models would give you increased access and some status also. As well as a sense of preselection that you are a man that is often around beautiful women.

It's sad that this is the case, and for a time I thought it was true. But unfortunately, what matters most is being as hot as possible, approaching, having a decent wardrobe, being exciting, or just flat out having money.

You'd be better off hitting the gym, approaching women, or making money. Hobbies are something you do truly just for yourself.

IMHO, a man with passion is an attractive man. Think of the roles Christian Bale or Tom Cruise plays. It's almost always someone who is passionate to the point of obsession.

If your hobbies and books help you become more physically attractive, confident, intelligent, interesting, and successful - then how could they not help you get laid?

Obviously some of these are going to have much more of an effect with finding a quality girl for a relationship than finding sluts to bang but there are still some examples such as lifting weights and athletics that directly help you get laid.

In most cases there probably needs to be some authenticity in regards to why you are involved in the hobby. Many girls will see through you if you are involved in the hobby just to get laid and many girls will be very attracted to you if you are genuinely passionate about the activity. Good game involves taking a girl through a range of emotions and her feeling the passion and excitement you have for things in your life is an excellent emotion for her to experience.

I don't think it can be repeated enough on this forum that game/women/life isn't binary. Don't oversimplify things. There are guys that will have a lot of great hobbies and do poorly with women but that doesn't mean hobbies can't be influential for you. In most cases that specific guy probably has some other aspect or aspects of his game that are creating problems for him.

One of my hobbies is coaching youth sports. While it’s pretty low stakes stuff, the actual coaching is pretty good practice at leadership and communication skills. It has definitely but indirectly sharpened my game.

I have a lot of uncommon interests ranging from psychopharmacology and evolutionary psychology to eastern philosophy. These subjects dry up women more than anything. I've even talked to evo-psych majors who had little to say about the subject even though it's just a hobby for me.

While there are no doubt exceptions as always, women generally aren't interested in things and ideas. They're interested in superficial stimulation. For every women you see reading a book, how many more do you see glued to their smartphones and addicted to social media? I can't even tell you how many bios I read on Tinder where they state their hobbies are drinking coffee, eating food, or watching some shitty TV show, and they show zero humility in making these statements.

This almost sounds sexist, but it's the truth. I've met very very few women who were intellectually challenging in any way. The most deep and interesting conversations I've had were always with men. Women are into horoscopes, superstition, and at best surface level pop psychology. Forget talking about anything remotely esoteric or difficult . It won't be a fun conversation.

Having diverse interests, hobbies, knowledge, etc won't do much in terms of any direct benefits. Maybe it can help getting laid in a more indirect way by making you more confidence and engaged in your own life and therefore everyone around you. But I'm not entirely convinced.

This is it. Even when you think that the woman you're dealing with is someone "deep" that enjoys intellectual conversation about hobbies and literature, it's most likely just surface level attention whoring.

Girls will pick hobbies or interests because of the outward benefit to them (attention). For example, a woman will claim that she's a gym rat and loves going to the gym to be healthy. In reality she's going to the gym to lift weights lightly for 20 minutes while she takes pictures of her ass to post on her instagram later to get some validation from some likes and thirsty beta orbiters in her DM's and comments.

Most men choose how they spend their time logically by doing what they truly enjoy or what is beneficial.
Most women don't even know what they truly like themselves, only what gets them the most attention.

Being interesting is a must, but don't lean on talking about your hobbies and interests to get her in bed. Even if you guys share interests she's not most likely not even capable of the logical in-depth conversation about dieting and exercises you started because you realized you both had weightlifting in common.

Ugh, yes.

I see so many photos of women doing 115 lb half squats in the smith machine and expecting people to be impressed or find it sexy.

Everything has to be documented and validated. They even feel the need to take pictures of themselves reading books and drinking coffee. Although this isn't just with women. Go to any show or live event and half the people are recording it on their phone even though no one, including themselves, will ever watch it.

So much truth here. But my experience also differs a bit.

I'm a law student, poli sci/English major, do BJJ, box, hike, explore caves, travel, play drums, kayak, smoke cigars, make knives (stock removal), and make beats in my spare time.

In many ways, I'm a very similar guy to Hank (on paper). And I've found that the educated, interesting, well-read side of me has helped me spin myself as a certain kind of guy within a certain kind of frame.

Having girls see me as that kind of guy has gotten me pussy on multiple occasions. It has also helped me keep girls around once I got them off the street and into my bed.

That being said, Hank is dead on in that these things will not dazzle a girl or make you stand out in the club. They just won't. And more often then not, when you're hitting on hot girls, you're competing with the aforementioned YouTube stars, DJs, artists, bouncers, and athletes. In those situations, you're walking into a gun fight with a 9mm while everyone else has AK-74s and grenades.

It can supplement your game for sure, but then again, almost anything can. There are guys who smoke meth and get laid all the time by being the degenerate fuck everyone's daddy hates.

Like Hank said, books and cool hobbies don't have as much weight as you might think. Unlike being a DJ or pro athlete, these hobbies don't put you in the direct view of hot girls in a way that pegs you as sexually high-value. They're hard attributes to market.

Most of these posts are just an indirect way of complaining about women. Guys are getting rejected and rationalizing that these rejections are occurring because women are so dumb.

But if it was so easy to get laid as a bartender with ripped jeans then why wouldn't most of you get a part-time bartender job and buy some ripped jeans?

What you guys aren't realizing is that all DJs and bartender aren't getting laid. Some of them are doing well and those guys are probably either more attractive than you or have better game than you. And being a professional athlete isn't a hobby.

Hobbies probably aren't going to the primary thing that gets you laid but they can help.....and that was the question.

Bottom line is stop making excuses. It's a bad mindset to have.

Here's what everyone is actually saying: you will get more pussy on average working in certain areas.

You seem real concerned with the question these guys are answering.

What you're missing is that while you are answering the basic question, a lot of these guys are answering the basic question and the underlying mindset behind the question, which isn't just will books and hobbies help me get laid, but should I decide to spend my time reading books and having cool hobbies if I am primarily concerned with increasing my game.

So people saying it would be better to be a pro athlete are saying that there are other life choices and things to do besides cool hobbies that will increase the odds for you.

And if you think working in a club gets you less ass than working in an office, you don't know anything about either. That's just a fact. Sure lots of bartenders get no pussy, but if you have anything that even looks like game, you can at least bang a few chicks just from being around them all the time.

Try openly hitting on the nearest sober 35-year-old single mom with the black asshole at your next board meeting and tell me how that is.
