Grooming etc.
What's best? From Roosh one would think that so long as you didn't smell (and are strong in Game) you're fine. One of the things I picked up from That Book was that the standards really are pretty low for guys, though obviously it helps at least a little.

What do you lads do for hair, facial and otherwise, and clothes?

I'm of "My nickname is gorilla" hairiness and it doesn't seem to hurt me any, though having such heavy facial hair I get 12 o' clock shadow meakes shaving a PITA.

The only difference in what I wear between going out and not being in sharking mode is that I'll be wearing a shirt or some ridiculous "I'm ripped" t-shirt while if I'm just in the world I'll be wearing a decent t-shirt, always jeans.

Would it be fair to say that the most important thing is the body language?

This rambling post has been brought to you cortesy of a desire to get the silly prize.

Body Language has got my vote, but it doesn't supersede the lack of body odor. I'm of the opinion that the external trappings on a person is only a small influence compared to good game and what the person carries within. Granted if you're dressed like a bum, and smell of garbage it's going to take some immortal level game to get anywhere.

The more you fertilize a garden the more it'll grow.

I never thought of it in terms of compromising. If you want chicks to take you seriously you have to pay attention to all of the details. In other words, don't think because you pressed your shirt that you don't have to clean your finger nails. It's a tiny investment into yourself that could pay off huge dividends.

There's a baseline level of hygiene that you have to meet.
Anything else you add is just gravy.

Beyond the basics like not stinking and being free of halitosis, if you have enough social proof and charisma, you can get away with almost anything. There is this indie music artist, Ray LaMontagne from Maine. I was looking at this myspace page. Now he's a pretty shaggy looking guy but looking at the comments girls are leaving on his pics, they're practically wetting their panties over him. If the same dude was working as a walmart cashier and wasn't in a band, I'm sure these same women would be saying he looks like a serial killer. I'm sure even Marilyn Manson gets his fair share of ass as disgusting as he looks.

Allow me to field this question.

Fact of the universe: Hair always wins. I don't fight it, but embrace it.

That said, it's not about the quantity of your hair, but how you shape it. You can have a thick beard but is it creeping on the front of your neck or riding to your eyes on the sides? Is your sideburns even? Is the baby hairs on the back of your neck trimmed? As look as it you do it right, i like to argue the more hair the better. Hair comes from testosterone and when women see a hairy man it's possible they see you as more of a man. (wishful thinking, perhaps)

Also, when I wear a buttoned shirt i really put the chest hair on full display. It's obvious when a man tries to hide his chest hair and shows a lack of confidence. but when you flaunt what this culture deems a flaw, now that's confidence.

I think there is definately a difference between baseline and optimal though. Looks do matter. I am the only guy in my workplace and I have to listen to the squealing over customers all day. Its a pity all the grooming, clothing, style sites for men are essentially advertising for $300 wallets and shoes.

Bump. How hygienic are you? Are you a clean freak? Do you shriek at the sight of a stain? Do you wear boxers, shirt, socks twice in a row?

I just discovered you are not supposed to wear the same socks, underwear and shirt in a row? Some girls thought it was disgusting to wear the same shirt.

Beliefs are more powerful than facts.

I wouldn't say a fresh pair of socks, boxer and t-shirt every day is symptomatic of being a clean freak. Hell, some days I'll change my socks twice if I'm in boots and my feet get sweaty.

They who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety- Benjamin Franklin, as if you didn't know...

The biggest one for me is breath, I probably go through a pack of Altoids in two days. You'd be surprised how many times girls have told me that it was a relief to be with a guy with decent breath. A lot of dudes walking around with stank in the mouths.

I'm huge on this to the point that I won't even leave the house without going through a routine. Shower, shave, deoderent/perfume, brush teeth, mouth wash, pack of chewing gum in pocket etc. To me there's no bigger turn off in a girl than bad hygiene, so I like to set a good standard myself. Girls usually love to keep kissing me once we start so it certainly pays off.
