I scored 9, but no one actually needs to take this test to be assured of not being a psychopath. Why? Well, if you're wondering if you're a psychopath then you're almost certainly not one.

One of the main traits of psychopathic people is a sick sense of self-determination. They don't wonder if they might be this or that - they're simply pathologically certain of it.

I dislike how broad the questions were though. It doesn't feel like it can indicate much beyond a basic idea. Then again it admits to that you shouldn't take the results seriously after you take it anyway.

I would recommend against responding to quizzes of this nature online from an IP address that can be traced back to you (or at all, really). This one explicitly asks whether you have committed crimes, but even subtler tests for "psychopathy" or "sociopathy" could potentially be used against you if you ever get into any kind of trouble (for example, as a result of being falsely accused). Please remember that the Internet is forever and unless you are using an anonymous VPN -- and sometimes even then -- most IP addresses are easily traceable to an individual. Since this "quiz" was "designed by experts" it could conceivably be given some weight in a legal context. The odds of that ever happening are low, of course, but it's best to just keep them at zero.

As a side note, there are many good -- and some superb -- men that are quite rational, calculating, emotionally cold, and not particularly prone to guilt or uncertainty and would score reasonably high on this scale. They likely would not have any history of violence or poor impulse control, but they would match many of the other criteria, without in fact being "psychopaths" or anything close to that.

I scored 15. I think this test is kinda basic, a lot of the questions are a bit superficial. "I am exceptional". That could mean many things, not necessarily grandiosity. "I was a problem child". Maybe because the person was abused?

More useful and insightful in my opinion is the list of nine traits of narcissistic personality disorder (NPD). Not quite the same as psychopathy but there is a lot of overlap, this list of traits is more pointed and I think easier to apply in life:

1. Arrogance and Domineering
2. Grandiosity
3. Preoccupation with Success and Power
4. Lack of Empathy
5. Belief of Being Unique
6. Sense of Entitlement
7. Requires Excessive Admiration
8. Exploitative
9. Envious of Others

After a close friend betrayed me, it took a couple of years to fully process what had happened. Once I learned about NPD, it all made sense. I've also noticed NPD traits in a family member and have adjusted my behavior accordingly.

I just can't read through any psychopath thread these days without being reminded of that member (SudoRoot) who started this "Q and A with a psychopath" thread.

I read through that thread some time ago and it still gives me a laugh to this day, especially when you have a look through SudoRoot's rep report.

I couldn't make up my mind if the goal was to be or not to be a psychopath...

Problem I have with all tests like this is that I could easily score whatever I wanted to on them. What does that indicate?

A better metric of psychopathy is if they tortured small animals in childhood. If they did. They are very likely a psychopath and a future serial killer.

I scored 17. Seems to be a popular result for some reason. I think this test is bad however. Some questions are too broad and can be interpreted in many ways. Also this test makes it seem like every psycopath must have done some quite serious crime in his life, which I don't really believe - there are plenty of smart psycopaths who know how to balance at edge of social norms ot avoid becoming a convict and a criminal.

Anyway I for sure know I am not a psycopath, since I am a moral person and feel strong compassion towards victims of injustice, altrough since I consider strength to be a virtue and believe in reason and stoicism trumping over emotionality, I could appear cold to conventional morality and such tests calibrated for your average blue piller or even women would return too many false positives.
