Extreme BP mentality? Even after becoming rich and famous those guys couldn't let go of oneitis. If for some reason they go broke again, those girls will dump them.

It's an interesting debate.

On the one hand, this level of desperation and one-itis is blue pilled and possibly pathetic.

On the other, these men improved their status and ended up getting the girl of their dreams, who will presumably bear their children. Imagine you're a 9/10 or better girl.....why would you settle for some dude who is a 6 and likes soccer? Hard to hate on the girl or the guy in this situation, honestly.

We already have threads for men making bad decisions marrying women (including celeb threads where they simp hard for girls they couldn't have before they got famous).

However, the example above is not a good one at least if you take the video at face value. The video says she rejected him 20-30 times with the reason she stated ultimately being that he might be in another country soon, implying she was not willing to date him because it would only be short term and she was looking for long term. I found 1 tattoo on her and it's not in a place visible to the world unless she's wearing a bikini. Not ideal, but she's given him two children and there's no indication she's cheating on him or being a bad wife.

This is simply not a good example at all. There's nothing wrong with being persistent about a girl you want to marry especially if she's rejecting the situation not necessarily you personally. As a backup player he's still got plenty of fame/money to attract a waitress, even a hot one. He worked hard to be permanent and make more/succeed and then they started dating. We'll see what happens with more time, but it wasn't really a rejection per se.

I have a family/childhood friend who I went to elementary school with, and then ended up at the same with college freshman year before I transferred out to a better school. Cute girl, somewhat religious.

Though cute, she was not much of a student and did some, but not an insane amount of drinking, probably did a bit of freshman stuff dating alphas although I only know of one dude she was seeing since we weren’t always in the same circle. Dude was cool. A tall muscular guy.

This girl and I had a language class together, in which there was also a medium height pudgy dude. Ok looking. Not much personality or confidence. Not the type of guy this girl would give the time of day to. She transferred out of that school after a year or two, lived at home, and finished up at a community college. While certainly not poor, her family was not rich by the standards of her community.

Fast forward to a year or so after graduation and I’m in the park in my parents neighborhood. I come across the girl and the formerly pudgy dude together roller blading. He looks better and has more confidence. They’re now dating. We spend a few minutes catching up.

I go home and my mom tells me he had a glandular issue which caused the pudgieness. I’m not sure what he did to fix it, but it sure didn’t hurt that he’s from a wealthy real estate family related to the Trumps. Good on him though for fixing what was wrong and bettering himself. Good on her for leveraging her looks to find a well off dude who probably worships her.

That was 15-16 years ago. They have 3 kids now and live outside the city. I still see them occasionally at family/community stuff. She seems really happy and still looks pretty good, and he does too.

I’m genuinely happy for both of them.

Something I want to bring up for consideration is this:

Unless the guy who has become well off is looking for women that are a lot younger than his age group, what difference (in theory) would it make if he ends up with someone he once knew who rejected him because he sucked vs someone he didn't know who WOULD HAVE rejected him because he sucked?

Obviously it tells you more about the women but considering AWALT, how does it affect the guy?
