Moving back to hometown decision
What's up guys,

I am currently struggling to make a decision as to whether I should move back to my hometown. I recently left my job because I hated it.

The hardest part about being away from my hometown is obviously not being able to see family. On the other hand I feel that there could be more growth and self development if I stay. I know how valuable time with family is as I recently had a friend lose his dad (i'm in my 20's). Also my ma is in the hospital (she's ok), but it's also something weighing on my mind (rationalization?).

It's also an extremely hard decision because I realize that the decisions I make now can impact the rest of my life. Curious if anyone else has been in this situation. Just looking for an outside perspective. Thanks.

RE: Moving back to hometown decision
Depnends on where home is.

There is a big difference between returning home in Denver vs a trailer park in Mississippi.

Sometimes you have to plant your own roots. There is no solution to missing your family. You’ll always miss them and when they pass you’ll wish you spent more time with them.

I tried going home after war to spend more time with my family but I realized that was no longer my home. That was 16 years ago.

I moved out of home when I was 23. Most of the time I’ve lived within 50 miles of my family - close enough to visit on weekends but too far to visit daily.

Not sure what part of world you are in and if you’re in the US. Does your hometown have a lot of good jobs available? Could you move to the nearest big city?

If you know where you're at is going to bring growth - stay. If you're home sick is travel home once in a while. Don't seek comfort, seek growth.
