To me and what I've seen with game blogs, general good fashion and suiting up will become a major part of game. Generally I like the fact that most men want to look good and feel good about themselves when they're stepping out of their house with gaming in mind. Obviously sum know what they are doing and a majority of guys don't. Especially if you're trying to suit up for the first time or take your fashion game to the next level from typical frat boy style.

Right now what I'd like to do is get a pulse check of anyone on the forum who would be interested in a service where they'd have a personal style consultant help them. Show them how to shop according to their budgets, how to pick a style that best fits their lifestyle, body shape and will maximizes their attractiveness to women. This is in the infant stages right now but I'm think it would take a typical afternoon on the weekends. So

1. Who would be interested in a service like this (including if you know friends who who need this service).

2. How much would you be willing to pay. (according to your budget)

Well I don't live in D.C. so this wouldn't be applicable to me, but I don't think it's at all a bad idea. I have a good sense of fashion, but haven't stepped up to "suited down game" yet, I could definitely use a bit of guidance on that front. How much to charge I think would largely depend on your client, a very successful lawyer or businessman could easily swing $50 + for an hour of your time, but someone like myself would only be down to pay $25-40 max. For tailored game advice, now that would be more valuable in my opinion.

Oh yeah and props on the blog, I check it out from time to time, and have gotten a lot of good tips and bits of wisdom over the years.

$50/hour would be a good start. Your average consultation will take 2-4 hours I'm guessing.

I imagine your blog readers would be the first to sign up.

you have a good idea but i think the problem you would have is price competition because to some extent you can get personal shoppers at places like Nordstrom to do the same thing at no cost - although they get a percent of what you spend. i'd say your best bet is to put together a package where you meet the client at his house, go thru his current wardrobe with him and tell him what works and what doesnt and explain why, then spend an hour or two shopping with him and giving him some suggestions and opinions.

If you could teach us how to maximize the items in our wardrobe right now that'd be worth paying for.

I agree with coming up with different packages, but what would be different with me and a Nordstrom shopper is that the Nordstrom shopper you'd have to stay in Nordstrom and spend your money there. With me I'd bring the flexibility of going to different stores AND showing how to shop within a reasonable budget. Also technically you wouldn't even half to buy anything on the outing just gain the knowledge of what to look for and how to shop suit game or stepping up your fashion sense.

Also there would have to be some consulting done before to gain an understanding of client personal style from the past and where they want it to go in the future.

i understand, there is definitely a value that can be added, you just have to do it in a way where its worth the money because there are somewhat similar ways people can clothing advice for free. i do think its a good idea though.

Thinking about target markets besides really out of touch betas or guys leaving the college look behind, seems like guys recently divorced need the most help. A few years out of the game or letting there wife pick out their clothes kills many men's fashion sense. The commenter who mentioned competition is correct. Clients can actively search online because the internet is full of good fashion tips that come free. Couldn't hurt to have a free or reduced teaser offer to rope them in. I use that with my tutoring side gig.

I would be interested. Yes, there are style blogs out there and you can do it yourself for free, but what I am really paying for is your time to take me to various stores and advise me on what looks good. Basically I want you to make it easier for me. Also, assistance with selecting clothes that you can make multiple outfits from. For example, the blog thestyleblogger.com has lots of great ideas, but where can I find a Burberry jacket look alike?

In the past I have paid $250 as a flat fee consultation to an image consultant, but he was not in the DC area, and yes, as MrM27 pointed out, this was post-divorce. The rates that have been thrown around here are reasonable.

I am actually in the market for a gray suit without necessarily spending a shit load on it. Feel free to PM me.

Thanks for this feedback... of course I think it would e a good idea to offer a reduced fee to rope some clients in. I was thinking if I do go through with this I'd offer my services at a very reduced fee here to forum members first just to get some first hand feedback and personals to see what works best and what doesn't in my package.

My personal story after about a year of actively trying to fix my style , My Suit game is Tight and I regularly get compliments on my suits/sports coat and the cool pocketsquares and accessories I use.

I guess a service like you are suggesting can help a player get the insight and then he will just have to develop his own style.

What helped me was reading GQ, seriously and paying attention to the cool cats out there, Trying something that you are not not comfortable with, wearing one piece of clothing that is unique to you.

A lot has been written about Suits on the forum and Players can take advantage of that.

What I am interested in developing a Bad Boy Vibe yet still look sophisticated and yes I will be willing to pay 35-50/Hr , yet It might be high for the young G's.........

I'm from the DC area and I can see how an image consulting service would be beneficial. However, I would never, ever, pay for something like this from someone who is an unknown quantity. You need to have a successful track record that shows you know your shit, and I don't mean lame testimonials (most of them are lies anyway). Check out this dudes site and see the way he does it. He has posted dozens of videos on tips and techniques covering everything from clothing style, haircuts, diet, working out, etc. If I were in the market for a consulting service like this, I would buy from him because he has put a lot of content out there to give me a good feel for what he knows and can do.
