Pusscrook..When you go there do you drive?
I try to fucking avoid it if I can. There are two types of scams going on down there. One is internal with the police. You get stopped , you pay a bribe, you drive off. If you don't , it can get a little hairy .. To avoid this, don't ever speak Spanish,(they will intimidate you once they know you are trying to speak it) and make up an embassy card or some shit to pull out when they ask to see your documents.
Accidents, can be intentional, since one would spot a rental a mile away. They know that your rental insurance covers everything, so, why not hit you, and have someone write it up as if you had hit them. I had this happen to me but I'm a little cuckoo and so for me, I just went off in Spanish, pretended I was recording the conversation while talking to my lawyer(no one was on the phone). You have to start quoting laws, names, bring up the embassy , anything.
You will find out why they call dominicans, (dummy -in -a -can). They can't think too far down the road sometimes. Perfect wife material...HEHEH

Well I hope it doesn't happen to you , but with a van like that, you sure are asking for something. It's not like they are all out for you , but they have no money, and if you look like a victim, you will be treated as such. When you go there you will see a lot of these "motoconchos" (people on motorbikes using them as if they were cars). They will dart in and out of traffic, and you will see a whole fucking family on one motoconcho. Now this is standard mode of transport for a lot of these poor bastards so don't be alarmed. The problem is, one of these motherfuckers will dart the wrong way, and God forbid you're lit on some rum and he hits you. They may be dumb, but they are cunning, and money does all the talking down there. Don't change money at the bank if you want a higher return, but beware of exchange stores.Ask the whore you will be with for the best "intercambio"store to change money that she knows of. Always ask what the rate is for that day because it changes daily. Go to one store, and then another, to look for better rates. If you are paying a whore to fuck, pay her in pesos, and you get a better deal, if you pay in dollars you fucked yourself out of extra money. Have a few drinks of mamajuana(she will know what that is) before you fuck her too. If you are on a dark road and you see a police flagging you down, drive pass them real fast without stopping, like you're on a MLK boulevard in the states.
