How do you guys usually find a place to stay in a new country or city? What kind of website do you use and what are the standard that you use to choose which one to stay. Any trick that you use to prevent your roommates would steal your stuff like food as the most common.

There's a website called Airbnb.com that's pretty decent. People rent out apartments, usually for cheaper than you would normally pay.

If you on a budget there are hostels, have both dorm beds and private rooms(not the best if you are confident you're gonna get laid though)

Stealing food?, is that a serious concern of yours?
