I'm headed to Eastern Europe for a year in 2 weeks, and I'll have some idle time before I have to settle down. I'm definitely going to Helsinki on the 17th of August for 2 days, but I'm also considering a trip to Riga, Latvia for a few nights. Anyone been to either of these places?

Crazy.

One of my running partners has been to both this year. (two separate trips).

Said both were dope as hell.

Had better things to say about Riga.

Riga nightlife is AMAZING.

Stay at a hostel called Franks. It is run by an Aussie bloke and has won best hostel in the world 3 years in a row. All the staff at the hostel at super hot Latvian girls. There is a huge bar with happy hour that runs from monday to wednesday. Every night at 11pm the whole hostel meets in the bar for shots and the hostel girls take everyone out to a different club where you get free entry and shots.

Latvian girls are really cute and we found quite open to being picked up. They don't seem to like guys from the UK as they always come over for bucks nights an have a bad reputation. Awesome city, I stayed for a week then went back again for another week.

Cool, thanks for the info. I'm only going to be there for a night or two, but I'll try to pack in as much nightlife as I can.
