Bali, Indonesia - Trip report/Mini-data sheet

Bali is still the best place for partying and gaming. I am traveling in June and tried couchsurfing and tinder passport. Both are good for pipelining.

I travel to Bali multiple times per year and in Canggu it's slim pickings compared to Kuta/Legian and Seminyak.

If you would like to hit on (drunk) tourist Legian is the best place to be. Gili Trawangan is also good. If you would like to hit on locals Legian/Kuta is also the best place to be (allthough in Jakarta there's much more available talent).

You will meet them in DOJO, they don't want to be 'lonely' in Bali, so either you gotta move fast or go for the locals, but there aren't that many of them in Canggu.

These 'digital nomad' girls all want to feel that they are 'in love', so they cling onto their relationships, and they know they cant compete with a local, but those guys that are in 'relationships' with them aren't interested in locals either.

Overall, Canggu is pretentious and you will be surrounded by these types, but if you do manage to get with one of these chicks, it can be good, and they are horny.

Canggu is the one place in Asia, and I have been to the most popular places in Asia, where the foreign talent (mostly northern Euro girls and Russians) beats the living shit out of the local competition. I completely disagree that these digital nomad girls "know that they can't compete with a local". The locals are not a competition at all for the most part. Indonesian girls, well at least in Bali, are hands down one of the least attractive girls I have seen in the world.

Yes, Canggu is pretentious, and rightfully so. Why?! Because the foreign talent can be absolutely fucking hot. Canggu got the highest concentration of the top foreign talent I have seen in all of Asia, but with that also come the fierce competition. It is very much about looks here. Being an above-average looking guy, spitting that A grade clown game and being aggressive is the price of admission if you wanna score a hottie here. It's hard but if/when you do score one, you can bet it's gonna be a good one.

Talent is indeed very good, especially with the new influx of Russians. Russians now make around 10-20 % of the population , even more during winter months. Other than that it’s the Europeans and then North Americans. Best way to see the talent is through tinder just spoof your location to canggu.

What I described above perhaps only applies to the digital nomad crowd at dojo or outpost. There are other types there as well and they could be just travelers staying long time there. Daygame might work , say doing a surfing session and you meet them there on the beach.
Contrary to how the movie eat pray love portrays, I actually don’t think it’s a good place for solo male travelers as much as Seminyak. There has been an influx of young European couples, in addition to the Aussie groups and it makes the whole place a bit group oriented and add onto that a pretentious vibe it might not be so good for solo travelers. You could still manage to do it though. I haven’t yet found a way to game effectively in Canggu though.

Some of the nightlife places seem popping. Every day of the week there is one club that is busy. The girls are definitely into fitness so when they dress up at night with heels and stuff they look good in tight clothing. You do have some Aussie teenagers but they aren’t the majority anymore, it’s now very mix, and probably 50% European crowd. It’s quite a different world to Seminyak.
