RE: The Donald Trump thread
Does anyone here have a link to the state deadlines and signatures needed for a third party candidate? This French thing is not really concerning, but if he needs quite a few signatures in some of these upcoming states, he might not even get to the starting line. That would be funny to see. Probably would make Trump look better to.

RE: The Donald Trump thread
This whole incident made it abundantly clear the Achilles-like hatred I have of "Conservatism, Inc." I hate those people more than the iron gates of death.

You see, I hate the left too, but I do respect them. The left believes in something. It has drive. It's motivated. It wants to win. Its adherents want to advance their ideals.

"Conservatives?" They just want to clutch pearls and look respectable in the eyes of the left. They don't care about winning, not really, at any rate. Look at low-energy Jeb who reneged on his pledge to support the nominee and instead stated the highest priority was to keep control of congress. Did he get anything from going back on his word? No. Trump would though.

"Conservatives" stand for nothing. The only "principles" they seem to have and care so much about are a rigged market under the guise of being "free market," but even if the market was "truly free," a market does not a nation make (something libertarians just don't understand). Their precious ideas, when they exist at all, are utterly transparent and powerless, and this is part of why they lose.

But they don't really care because they somehow think this makes them look "respectable." Of course, because being respected by people who hate you matters. I seem to recall Mittens being called a misogynist last time, who now has the gall to call Trump one as if he can't even remember the left used the same tactics on him, and it's part of why they won, again.

In short, the left has more redeeming virtues than "conservatives," at least in their character and mindset, which is telling of just how utterly weak and pathetic "conservatives" are.

Fuck them. The sooner "Conservatism, Inc." dies and the new right rises, the better.

RE: The Donald Trump thread
I found a prescient quote from The Last Psychiatrist. I've noticed many on the forum are fans of his, including 2Wycked and AnonymousBosch.

Quote:Navelgazer: "Maybe we've been here before. Maybe we've faced worse. Who cares? This is what we've got to deal with now." That sums it up.

My point in taking the other side of this-- that rancor has always existed-- is that that rancor, while apparently terrible, may be the whole thing that makes America work better than Parliamentary systems (as Craig Ferguson would say: I look forward to your letters.)

We can look at this as a dialectic of sorts, back and forth but upwards, spiraling towards something-- let's call it better. You have a Carter, so you get a Reagan, and then you get a Clinton. You have a Bush, so then you get an Obama, so then you get... I will bet every dime I have that whoever the next President is, R or D, he will be the concrete response to abstract ideologies of the two, he will be what pulls America out of this, and when I say bet I mean a literal bet that is being made for me, for all of us, what happens post-Obama may well define America for the rest of America.

RE: The Donald Trump thread
(05-31-2016 07:47 PM)Guitarman Wrote:  And can Hillary with all her billions be so stupid as to make her slogan; "LOVE TRUMP(s hate)".

One thing I have noticed lately is the MSM trying to start the narrative that the Trump campaign has some kind of problem because it isn't structured like the typical campaign.

Here's an NY Mag article calling the Trump campaign, "An absolute strategic and managerial garbage fire"

From the article:

Quote:By all accounts it is the most organizationally and strategically inept campaign for a successful major-party nominee in recorded history

So strategically inept that he earned the most votes of any republican in a primary?

Quote:Trump is reliant on information he garners himself, and can be swayed by the last person he talked to

God forbid he gathers his own information.

Quote:Parker and Haberman somewhat delicately put it. His campaign staff is far too small, and yet constantly at war with itself, already having gone through multiple shakeups and coups.

Hillary has over a hundred people on her staff and hasn't been able to put away Bernie.

Trump's modest outfit has completely ratfucked the entire mainstream media and dominated the news for months now. Meanwhile, most of the news on Hillary pertains to her email scandal.

Quote:In keeping with his general disdain for data, Trump has eschewed any use of analytics to target voters or competitive areas. Indeed, he has fixated bizarrely on plans to compete in New York and California, two states where any Republican faces hopeless odds against an entrenched Democratic electorate. He is currently in North Dakota for reasons nobody fully understands.

Data and analytics? Forget tapping into the attitude of the American people as a whole. How will he pander appropriately?

Trump shouldn't try to compete in the big states, but he shouldn't focus on the small states either?

It's so hard for anyone to believe Trump would make a stop in North Dakota where he would surpass the 1,237 delegates needed for the nomination. Not to mention the energy plan speech he gave in an area that is a huge oil market. Mindblowing.

A day later the New York Times ran a similar article:

Quote:Mr. Trump is reliant on information he garners himself, and can be swayed by the last person he talked to.

Same exact sentence from the NYM article.

Quote:The Trump operation, for instance, has talked for weeks about hiring a full-time communications director, but has yet to bring anyone on board. Ms. Hicks is still the sole communications staff member. The Clinton campaign, by contrast, has a press team of more than a dozen, including people devoted solely to the news media for black and Hispanic audiences.

Why would a candidate bother crafting their own message when you could have a team of autistic nerds tweeting out carefully turned phrases and word pictures instead?

Quote:He has suggested that he will compete in new states, despite the scant resources he has devoted to the traditional Republican map so far. And he has been adamant to aides that he intends to try to compete in New York, which no Republican has captured since Ronald Reagan

More similarities from the NYM article. If the the Bushes couldn't win New York it certainly must be unwinnable right?

Quote:Mr. Trump, who lent his campaign money during the primaries, has begun fund-raising for the general election, and there are signs that high-dollar donors are willing to help, especially by donating to a super PAC supporting him. But there are several such groups, and the campaign has yet to unofficially sanction one, leaving some donors confused about which super PAC, if any, they should support.

Is it at all surprising that a candidate who has been anti-donor and anti-PAC would continue to be anti-donor and anti-PAC?

Quote:Woody Johnson, the Jets football team owner and a Republican fund-raiser, who this week committed to helping Mr. Trump raise hundreds of millions of dollars in a short time period, said he did not believe that the unsettled nature of the presumptive nominee’s campaign would be a hindrance.

Nothing negative here but I like to note how Trump continues a trend of having high profile supporters from the world of sports which seems smart in a nation of sports addicts.

I don't know if the new york times and new york mag are owned by the same people or what fuckery is going on. The reality is that this is another narrative that the MSM is trying to push.

I walked by a TV today and saw they were praising the clinton campaign for their adaptive tactics and how it would give them the strategic edge against Trump. tard

I wish the average American citizen would see this attack and take away the important underlying story. That is, Trump is promising change for this country and his actions actually back it up.

I love that people I know support Trump but I wish they had better talking points and reasons for why they support him. I know everyone loves the idea of a big beautiful wall and a promise to keep potential terrorists out of our country but I don't think that is the best way to evangelize for Trump.

Trump spreads his broader message to the country but his supporters need to help him explain the between the lines details to potential voters that he can't spread himself.

The best way I think we can help Trump is to try to speak to his character. How he stands by people when any other politician would have tossed them out on the street.(Lewandoski) or how his actions actually back up his promise to do things differently. How he hates the impotent nature of ineffective government bureaucracy (Wollman rink). How he is involved in his campaign on a deep personal level, a magnet of information that doesn't rely on a huge team of bureaucrats to do his work for him and how this is a stark contrast from the absentee presidency of Obama.

In this election you can tell a lot about how candidates would run this country by the way they campaign. Hillary(similar to the defeated GOP field) is a typical bureaucratic government operation burning through billions of dollars. Bernie has taken a ton of money from people and god knows what he does with it all.

Trump on the other hand has clearly been successful running a lean operation that relies largely on his own talents as a shrewd businessman and negotiator, whereas his competitors rely on excessive spending, huge campaign staffs, and a heavy reliance on data and analytics to make up for what they lack in their own intelligence and personality.

Completely agree! Trump knocked it out of the park on "Hannity" tonight. Watching "The O'Reilly Factor" now, should be interesting.

Don't forget their nominee, Gary Johnson, being a total moron.

Tearing up on the front stage of the convention floor, Austin said to Gary as he presented him with the pistol, “You have my sword, and you have my gun.”

Hours later, a number of delegates were reporting on social media that Johnson was seen tossing Austin’s pistol in the garbage.

RE: The Donald Trump thread
Loads of polls being released, YUGE for Trump

Quote:Polls: Donald Trump Is Shifting the 2016 Electoral Map

http://www.breitbart.com/2016-presidenti...-map-2016/

A slew of new state polls are strengthening one of the biggest hopes for Donald Trump supporters — that his singular appeal as a candidate will reshuffle the electoral map for 2016.
The national contest between Trump and Hillary Clinton is a toss-up, but Trump is surprisingly competitive in a host of states that Democrats have long taken for granted.

Oregon

A new poll of deep-blue Oregon finds Trump leading Hillary Clinton by 2 points, 44-42. A poll earlier in May found Clinton with an 11 point lead over Trump, but that same poll showed Clinton with a double-digit lead over Sanders for that state’s primary. She lost to Sanders by 12 points. Oregon hasn’t voted Republican in a Presidential contest since 1984, although George W. Bush came close to winning the state twice.

Both Clinton and Trump have strong support within their own parties in Oregon, but Trump has a 2-1 advantage among independents. Clinton’s nine-point edge with women is countered by Trump’s 13-point edge among men.

Democrats face two potential headwinds in Oregon. A billion dollar corporate tax hike pushed by the state’s Democrats is polling very poorly. State Democrats are also recovering from last year’s resignation of Democrat Governor John Kitzhaber, who was forced out of office after facing multiple allegations of corruption.

New Jersey

A Monmouth University poll of New Jersey finds Hillary Clinton leading Donald Trump by just four points in the deep-blue state. New Jersey hasn’t voted Republican since 1988 and hasn’t been competitive in any election after. Clinton’s lead in the RealClearPolitics average of polls in the state is just nine points, which is a very weak showing for any Democrat nominee. President Barack Obama won the state by 18 points in 2012.

Two recent polls in New Hampshire show a toss-up race between Clinton and Trump, with each drawing support in the low 40s. Both candidates are unpopular with voters, with just over 60 percent of voters having a negative view of the two candidates.

New Hampshire

Bernie Sanders retains his popularity in the Granite State after posting a landslide win over Clinton in the Democrat primary. Clinton seems to be suffering more by the comparison with Sanders.

New Hampshire has been a safe Democrat state in the Obama era. George W. Bush won it very narrowly in 2000, but Republicans have struggled ever since. Trump has a 20-point edge over Clinton among men, matching her 20-point edge among women.

California

Perhaps most surprising in recent poll is the relatively competitive status of California in the general election. Clinton leads Trump by 12 points in the RealClearPolitics average of polls, but hasn’t yet broken 50 percent in support. Even this lead seems modest, however, considering that Obama carried the state twice by more than 23 points. Republicans haven’t been competitive in Presidential elections in the Golden State since the 1980s.

Bernie Sanders, by contrast, leads Trump by 17 points in California.

Other States

Other recent state polls have shown near toss-ups between Trump and Clinton in Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania. Trump has a small edge in Arizona, North Carolina and Georgia, which have all trended Democrat in recent elections.

Obviously, the general election contest has only recently begun in earnest. While Trump has safely secured the Republican nomination, Hillary Clinton is still waging an exhausting battle against Bernie Sanders. Neither party has held its nomination convention and both candidates still have some work to solidify their party’s voters behind them.

That said, Trump’s strong showing in states that have only recently been foundations of the Democrats electoral map is surprising at this stage. Without robust general election campaigning, one would expect these states to reflect their traditional partisan biases in polling this early.

Time will tell soon whether Trump is really expanding the electoral map or, simply, whether Hillary Clinton is so deeply flawed as a general election candidate that she is putting Democrat states into play.

In the end, though, it doesn’t really matter why states like Pennsylvania, Oregon, New Jersey, New Hampshire and, even potentially, California are competitive. The fact that they currently are is enough to remind us that virtually anything is possible in this most unpredictable of election years.

One reason people like Sanders has to do with the high number of fatherless people now, his advance age and his tendency to pay for people college are things a father is suppose to do, if Sanders was 40 he would not be able to get this far, lots of his supporters are simple projecting their need of father in Sanders, that is why they love his old look, it makes him look more like a father/grandfather figure.

RE: The Donald Trump thread
*Donald Trump, a political novice who has never before held elective office, wins the Republican primary in unprecedented fashion, totally vanquishing his 16 rivals, winning every debate and utterly dominating the news cycle for the entire past year*

Mainstream media response: "Donald Trump's campaign is totally inept!"

Wtf

Is it possible to be more detached from reality?

Haven't read the article/link, but I assume he understands that President Trump would leave his nation alone and stop griefing them.

Putting America first, as Trump described in his foreign policy speech would have an amazing effect on the world. No more "wars for democracy" and pouring money in to Israel's already full pocket.

Well well, look what we have here....I smell collusion!

Law Firm Behind Trump University Lawsuit Gave Big Money to the Clintons
http://lawnewz.com/high-profile/exclusiv...-clintons/
Donald Trump has undoubtedly made the class action lawsuit against Trump University a campaign issue. For the last several days, he has been on a tear against federal Judge Gonzolo Curiel who is overseeing one of the class action lawsuits against Trump University. In the lawsuit, former students claim that the University and Trump violated federal law by luring them to sign up with false promises and then defrauded them once they handed over their checks.

LawNewz.com discovered that when it comes to politics, Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd, the law firm behind the class action lawsuit, is not exactly neutral either. Our analysis, using data first compiled by The Washington Post, found that Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd paid the Clintons a total of $675,000 in fees for speeches since 2009. Hillary Clinton gave a $225,000 speech at the law firm as recently as September 4, 2014. Bill Clinton also gave a speech for the same fee back in 2013, and another one in 2009 before the firm had been renamed (they used to be called Coughlin Stoia Geller Rudman & Robbins LLP). In fact, of the five law firms that paid for the Clintons to speak over the last few years, Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd paid out the most money.

Court records indicate 9 attorneys from Robbins Geller are listed as representing Art Cohen and the other former Trump University students in the class action lawsuit (there are three attorneys from another law firm as well). A review of the case’s docket reveals that the Robbins Geller attorneys have aggressively pursued the lawsuit, pushed for Trump to testify and for the trial to begin before the November 2016 election. However, it is also worth noting that the lawsuit was filed in 2013, well before Trump declared he was running for President.

“These are real people who spent a significant amount of money. This has impacted their lives. That does not turn on the election or the election outcome,” Robbins Geller lawyer Jason Forge said about the case. A judge ultimately decided that the trial should begin sometime after the election.

In addition, in the midst of the litigation, one of the Robbins Geller attorneys, Patrick Coughlin, who is also ‘of counsel’ at the law firm, maxed out his donations to Hillary Clinton’s campaign. Records maintained by the Federal Election Commission indicate that Coughlin has been a longtime financial supporter of both the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton. In February, he donated $5,400 to her campaign.

“No rule prevents a lawyer from donating to a candidate or paying a prospective candidate for speeches and also representing a client against her opponent. The story is interesting because everything about Trump appears now to be interesting, but there is no problem under the lawyer ethics rules,” NYU law professor Stephen Gillers told LawNewz.com. Gillers is an expert on legal ethics.

Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd is a high profile law firm, based out of San Diego, with considerable resources. The lawsuit against Trump was filed in the Southern District of California (San Diego) back in 2013. The firm is frequently involved in multi-million dollar complex litigation. In 2008, they obtained a $7.2 billion settlement for Enron shareholders as part of a massive federal class action lawsuit.
