NRC approves first new nuclear plant in 3 decades
Quote:The United States' first new nuclear power plant in a generation won approval Thursday as federal regulators voted to grant a license for two new reactors in Georgia.

I like to buy low and sell high.
The US approves building of a nuclear plant? How is that an actionable info to trade the market? The only way that info can be useful is if (a)you know the cost with the 8.3 billion loan and expected profit margin.(b) the companies building the nuclear power plant(hint:the ones that did most of the lobbying and campaign donations), examine their balance sheets to see what is up©How much in earnings will the cost add to their bottomline--you need to see the projections. And then, burst out those math skills and fact check them yourself. (d)How many nuclear power plants(just two according to the article....are there more in the pipeline? How much does these 2 power plants affect a company bottomline?
These and a few other questions are what i will ask. I CANT JUST DECIDE TO GO LONG NUCLEAR COMPANIES because of two power plants approved for georgia. That is not actionable intel.
That is just for the fundamentals.
For the technical analysis, i need to see at least one decisive reversal bullish technical signals(there are about 20 different kind) on the chart of the companies involved.
Like i said, i shorted the uranium stocks and ETF after the fukushima and covered in the fall. Here are the list:
The uranium/nuclear ETF that i went after was the
URA.
Shorted
URA from $21 and covered at $9.80..to a tune of 53% profit. Right now as of feb 10, 2012, URA is sitting at $10.31.
I didnt just raped the URANIUM/NUCLEAR etf....i also went after the uranium/nuclear stocks as well...of course, the OTCs and under $5 were ignored for obvious reasons...CFD trading of these OTCs and under $5 would have been optimal.(you cannot really initiate short stock position after the stock has sunk below $5 in the USA. there were a bunch under $5 like URRE, RCKGF, MGAFF, LMRXF, TUEFF, TVCFF, CUERF ...etcetera...that later fell hard, dropping by well over 50% in gain...But US residents cannot short them...of course, if you have european, or non-USA based person and you have account that trade
CFD for these stocks...you are busying making money.)
Anyways, the uranium exposure that i shorted were:
CCJ.....shorted at $40 and covered $20....that is 50% return. As of feb 10th 2012 sock is at $23. This was by far my largest position. I gave it almost everything i can. I piled on.
USU.....shorted at $5.2 and covered at $1.5 range...66% profit. Stock is still underwater as of feb 10th 2012 stock is $1.60.
URZ....was shorted at $5.4 and covered at $1.7 to a tune of 68% profit. Stock is still underwater as of feb 10th 2012 stock is $2.84.
UEC....was shorted at $6.3 and covered at $3.2 to a tune of 49% profit. As of feb 10th 2012, stock is now at $4.
THAT MAKES a gain of : 53%, 50%, 66%, 68%, 49% gain. From March to October(by that time i have liquidated every position).
TO see some of the damage go and look up the short interest in these stocks and ETF at
shortsqueeze.com
. Even now the short interest are still high in all of them. Of course, i have made my money and i am out. Pigs get slaughtered.
I mean, i understand mean reversion theorem of stock trading which is also referred to as variant perception. Buying when others are selling, and vice versa. However, when there is a megaphone that says something is going this way or that, and that megaphone was induced by a major shock to the system....in such a case, i prefer to ride the TREND...the trend, afterall, is my friend......
After the price action congestion starts forming in the fall...putting an end to the trend...Guess what i did? I started liquidating positions. Collected my profits and said thank you. I like easy money.
