I tried searching in here but couldn't find any related to this. Trading & investment networks can be different, depending where you live.

Some networks are only available for Americans and some networks accept only Europeans. Which ones do you use?

I used Kraken, I think they accept Americans and Europeans.

Gemini is also good but only accept people from US.

There is also Coinbase but I haven't tried that one yet and also, eToro. Which ones do you recommend?

Prices also differ from one network to another as well. When I wanted to buy bitcoin, price was almost $400 different on Coinbase than Gemini last time I checked.

bittrex, binance.

Ive tried applying for kraken, poloniex and others and shit takes forever to get verified. Plus bittrex and binance have a lot of crypto alt coins options.

bitfinex is pretty good. That's because I use a VPN though, being in the states limits you sadly

There seem to be a lot of exchanges not accepting new users these days for a variety of reasons, I've tried Coinbase and their passport verification was off because of overload. I tried Bitfinex and they have a message saying they are under DDOS attacks and not accepting new members for now, and Bittrex said due to too many new registrations they are implementing changes. Any good ones where registration goes through without issues?

We can't discuss in details there because people usually ask other questions there and people forget to focus or answer on this.

This topic is little different than other things being asked there because some sites accept Americans, others accept European and most have different rate of fee's.

After days of trying, I just got verified on Coinbase in 5 minutes. Seems their photo I.D verification is not accepting images through the app because resolution is too high even though it is their own system.

Instead, take a screenshot of photo of your I.D and upload through the browser on your phone to Coinbase website.

I was able to open a binance account last night very easily. I haven't verified the account or anything yet though. I'm in the US.

But you have a limit, right?

Sometimes they don't ask verification but you can only trade only $700 or something. If you want to do higher volumes, they ask your verification. At least, thats how it is for gemini

Without verification ("Level 1"), the 24 hour withdrawal limit is 2 BTC. With verification documents ("Level 2"), the 24 hour withdrawal limit goes up to 100 BTC. There are no references to trading volume limits. I'm going to submit my documents for verification tonight, and see what the turnaround time is.

I did several hours of research and Gdax seemed like the best option. There is 0% fee on maker trades (99% of my trades), it is one of the few exchanges properly licensed and something like $250,000 is insured for your account.

Kraken may be the 2nd best option.

Binance Level 2 confirmation is complete. That was fast.

I should clarify that I use GDAX for fiat transfers. Then I buy ETH and transfer it to Binance. You can't directly deposit fiat at Binance. If you're looking for an exchange where you can deposit fiat in your country, this is a good resource:

Anybody ever used Lykke?

I was looking to see what exchanges use Atomic Swaps and it came up. Looks like they used to have free trades, but the current fees are:

Still yet to find one that i can use at the moment for alt coins, i've got a Coinbase account for Litecoin and a BTC Markets account for Ripple but i want to start trading in the other alt coins. Tried Coinspot and they have a delay until late January. Anyone have any suggestions or sites that they use that don't have a long delay atm?

On the US-based exchange Kraken, it appears users can open a new account, but some cannot verify their account to buy and sell digital coins.

Try this. Go to coinmarketcap.com. Click on the crypto you're interested in purchasing. Then scroll down and click on the Markets tab. From there, you can see the exchanges and trading pairs with the highest volume. For example, if I were interested in buying ETH with EUR, then I would see these exchanges in descending order of trading volume:

Kraken
Bitstamp
GDAX

You can purchase some currencies directly with fiat. Others you may have to purchase an intermediary currency first, such as ETH.

Your question is a bit broad, so I think this will require some trial and error on your part.

Ok, I'll try and narrow down the question a bit.

Which websites do you buy bitcoin from if you are from the UK and have a UK bank account?

I tried to sign up for one months ago, and even though I have a UK bank account, it was impossible because I'm not in the UK right now and I'm not using a VPN or anything.

So that adds another level of complexity, is it more important where you are in the world, or where your bank account is? Are there websites where the only thing that matters is where your bank is based not where your actual location is?

Try https://www.buybitcoinworldwide.com/ to look up where you can buy bitcoin in a specific country.

If an exchange is detecting and rejecting the physical location of your IP address, then I would try using a VPN. I have used https://www.privateinternetaccess.com in the past for non-crypto purposes, and it worked well. You can set it to many countries in the world, and it's $7 a month. As long as your bank account is in a country supported by the exchange (and matches the country of your VPN IP), then I don't think you will have a problem. You will likely have to prove your residence/citizenship in that country though.

Make sure that the VPN is always enabled when you log in though, otherwise you could get locked out of your account, and that could be a nightmare. One US forum member logged into his account with a Cuban IP, and it caused a big headache for him. There is also a chance that some exchanges may maintain blacklists of VPN IP addresses, but if you're able to get through the initial account setup, then I think you're probably good after that.

Note: I have never used a VPN in this way. I'm just applying general knowledge to your question. I may be completely wrong.

Nope, your account is insured to $0. It's Gdax' bank account that is insured against theft, etc.
