I just don't get this. In this video she gives absolutely no indication that she had "fat ass" in her future. She's already 27 years old in the video. She had a small waist, flat stomach, thin legs, thin arms, no visible cellulite. There is absolutely no indication that she had any weight issues. She had one child at age 34.

Mediterranean people have a bad habit of not changing their diets accordingly past their thirties, when pasta at night starts becoming harder to turn into fuel.
Add to that an increase in the size of rations (people here in Spain go through the quantity of olive oil in a month that'd take a german family about a year and a half) with also a decrease in general food quality which became "watered down" (wheat specially, most commercial flour is shit these days) as more and more conservatives were added and more actual nutrition taken away.
And of course, less physically active jobs/lifestyles for huge chunks of the population.

Essentially, same thing as everywhere else,except it's more jarring given the reputation of the Mediterranean Diet.

If you dig into those studies, the "Mediterranean Diet" they reference is actually fresh greens (like dandelion type stuff), fish, and olive oil, not heavy in paella, bread, and pasta.
