I've always suspected Bruno Mars was a closet case. But with that said, most guys who build a career singing love songs to women come off as beta. They're performing. It's an act. It doesn't really mean anything if the guy flips the script when he meets the groupies back stage. His songs may be beta because that shit sells. Women buy it because they think that's the guy they want. Beta's buy it because they think that sappy shit coupled with being beta will help them pull. Some guys with game may buy it to play for women, but they incorporate it into their game and find success.

No matter how you cut it, Bruno Mars is making the money and getting the fame. He might be a chump if he doesn't work his fame to maximum advantage, but chump or not, he's getting approached. He's got an easier go because women pre-qualify him. Guys who get pre-qualified are seldom seen as beta until long after they get the notch.

I'm wrestling with this now. Currently practicing to be an acoustic solo act, which has a huge female majority audience as far as I know. No way I'll ever succumb to straight up beta love songs, but I would like to give myself some chance of success. Most probably I'll go super abstract poetic and let them think they "totally get it".

I'm convinced singer songwriter game, even in the minor leagues (coffee shops, open mics) will be the absolute shortest path for me to pull quality with less effort. But I'm not quite there yet, gotta get my chops down and my look down. I just noticed the girls that are drawn to my type/look are often big fans of acoustic singer song writer stuff, and I think I can play the part. Once I'm more comfortable performing I'm going to experiment with shit like bouncing day or night approaches to "I want to get your feedback on a song I'm working on" (guitar is in my apartment). Or play out in the park and improv to nearby girls. Lots of unique approaches to try out.

I'm surprised people don't talk about musician game more.

the thing is, singing beta songs is not necessarily beta. I mean, any dude with a hit beta song, is going to be alpha and fuck tons of chicks. many famous singer-songwriters are huge players, despite the fact they sing super beta songs.

Just like a romance novel, a "beta love song" is about a man falling into an emotional tailspin about a girl and being devoted to her. This is like crack for chicks, because they want a man to bond to them emotionally to take care of their offspring. But the thing is, it's just a ploy used to by these dudes to gain popularity with women, which results in them being studs.

A beta love song is essentially a dramatic lie. It's theatre, and it's chick crack. Don't take it at face value.
