There are 96 million people in the Philippines. US army base is projected to house 10,000 men. It won't even make the tiniest difference.

Where in the Phils is the US Army base will be? Clark as before or elsewhere?

Its a drop in the bucket. Plus the units will be on rotational basis (less time for travel). Back when I was in the Marine Corp, I came to the Philippines on a rotation for 3 months from Japan in 2006. When we left a another unit came to replace us. This was at Clark Air Base. In the middle of the P4P capital of the Philippines -Angeles City. The girls around there even though that had thousands of men from around the world coming there were still receptive to the men. If you traveled 30 mins in any direction you would get the same foreigner value as any other place in the Philippines. Even some of the P4P girls would try to go with you for the night without you paying anything. So this will not change anything.

Im a bit confused. The first article is an affirmation that the US would not be returning to the Phils to reopen a base. The second is a picture from the Chinese news agency, not exactly a bastion of objective thinking on the Philippino-American alliance and its affect on the balance of power in the South Asia sea.

Spent just over a week in Manila, 3 new notches, 2 FC and 1 from night game. Got into a mini-relationship which really killed my potential to pull large numbers.

Online:
FC is all you need, just follow Fistos advice from the swooptheworld post. The amount of 5’s that message you on that site is insane. I spent way too much time deleting messages, next time i will just message the girls i like and ask for their number.

Gym:
Just went to the hotel gym.

Accommodation:
Stayed walking distance from Greenbelt malls.

Food:
Local cuisine is nothing special, but the restaurants around the greenbelt malls were great, the Greek restaurant CYMA was my favourite.

Nightlife:
I was disappointed, 70% guys, a lot of couples or large groups of friends, very hard work here. Only pulled once from Time.

71Gramacy: Nice place, hard to roll solo as everyone is in groups, a lot of rich kids here, make sure to dress well. The gays loved me here, i drank for free one night haha.

Prive: Went here 3 or 4 times, way too many guys, no real dance floor as there are standing tables everywhere. Dance with a few girls but got nowhere.

Time: After hours place, it’s ok, a bit of a hit or miss sort of place, pulled here on a Monday night.

Club Havana: Checked it out on a Sunday night with a mate, it is P4P, i saw a group of normal girls but they were ugly.
Apparently Zzyz is open on Sundays so check that place out and skip Club Havana.

Went to a lot of random places on a Sat night: Amber, UBRN, Haze, and others, nothing good to report back, i think it must have been an off night. I hope my experience was just bad timing. I’ve heard good things about a club called Zzyz but didn’t know where it was and i didn’t check out Republiq which is meant to be good too.

Girls:
Overall I’m not a fan of the Filipinas look, most i would consider 5’s or 6’s, and they are 2-5kg overweight in my opinion. There English skills, personality and bedroom skills are great though.

I’ll come back to give The Phils another go, maybe Cebu is more my style with 7 days a week nightlife at J Ave.

Emigration Clearance Certificate

If you stay in the Philippines for longer than 6 months without leaving you must apply for an Emigration Clearance Certificate before you can leave the country.

I am going to Hong Kong for a week on Saturday but before I can get on a plane I have to go down to the Immigration office in Intramuros to get an Emigration Clearance Certificate.

Unlike Visa extensions where you can pay some one to take care of all that shit and never leave your condo you must go down to the Immigration office yourself and give finger prints and an assortment of other paper work. Pain in the Ass!

I went today jumping from window to window, filling out paperwork. At the end of all that they said... Ok sir come back Monday and it will be finished. Monday?!?! I leave Saturday! After some begging and offers of money (they did not accept) to speed things up I magically got the guy off his ass to ask a supervisor and was told to come back at the end of the day tomorrow (Thursday) to see if it is done. Fingers crossed it is all sorted out then or I am going to stress the fuck out.

I met another American guy at Immigration doing the same thing who said he went to the airport to catch his flight yesterday but they wouldn't let him board his flight until he took care of all of this shit.

You are allowed to apply for the Emigration Clearance Certificate 1 month before you leave so I would suggest not waiting until the last minute like I did.

Just a heads up for any of you guys staying long term here.

Yes you could.

If I would have known about this I would have done that. I was not happy about giving up my fingerprints but hell not much I could do if I wanted to leave.

I am in Davao now, looking for apartment for 6-12 months... So, Linmarr Towers - Camella Northpoint would be the best option for 25-30k php range (2br or around 50sqm) ? What about "Magallanes" there are a lot of offers from there? Maybe even something else ?

Looking for place that has good 4g LTE signal and is obviously in nice part of the city(close to the malls etc.)

The Philippines is one of those magical places where they can even arbitrarily stop their own citizens from leaving the country even if they have legit reasons. Just keep in mind it's an inefficient brain dead bureaucracy but they "mean well" unlike say..Thailand where laws are instituted based on fear and paranoia of foreigners.

They can make it hard on Filipinos to leave. I watched some young hottie with a middle-aged French guy get stopped at Clark going out. They sent her to be interviewed, I guess it was a "human trafficking" thing. I don't remember seeing them in the departure lounge later.

They also whack Filipinos with a pretty big departure tax that is separate from the airport fee. Phil Airlines website says it's 1620 pesos. I checked it out, if foreigners stay there longer than a year they have to pay it too.

What's the situation with girls over there? Usually, if a place is good for girls it's not good for beaches.

Can someone shed some light on the typhoon season for me? Is it something that I should be particularly worried about if I'm in the Visayas in July-ish?

I grew up in a city below sea level on the southeastern coast of the US and I've never really worried about them. You might have a couple named storms come through in a particular year, there'd be some heavy raining and light flooding for a couple days, but it wasn't more than a pain in the ass. Even huge storms like Hugo didn't mean much if you were in a decent house.

Is that the situation here or is it more serious than that?

Does anyone know anything about this random, arbitrary stopping of Filipinas on the way out? I've been reading online stories and it sounds pretty inconvenient. She loses her airfare because they prevent her from getting on the plane at the last minute.

Anyone know a way to work this out before hand so the jerks at the airport don't want to bother your girl?

I will give you my experience. I took my filipina girl to Hong Kong with me.

She is 20. I am in my 30's.

At the airport all Filipinos leaving the country have to pay a 1620 peso tax to leave. There is also a 550 peso tax everyone has to pay.

I was dressed in a button down shirt and jeans, she was wearing a long black classy looking dress. Not sure if it matters at all but went with the idea it is better to look nice.

At passport control I let my girl go in front of me. They asked her where she was going and how long. What did she do for work. How was she going to pay for her trip, that is when she pointed back at me and they asked me to come forward.

They asked how we meet, when, how long we have known each other, what is our relationship. They asked to see some pictures and of course she has about 500 pics of us on her phone so they looked at about 10 of them. After that they let us through.

My guess is that if you are over 50 and trying to leave with a girl under 30 you will get some hassle. I would show up to the airport extra early just in case they feel the need to interview you separately. Make sure you have your story down and have some pics ready to show that you have a long standing relationship.

Leaving from Clark and having a young girl from Angeles city is probably not going to look good and seems to be what I guess happened in the story Sp5 told.

I've actually ditched the girl who came to meet me for her friend with this one.

Game them both - don't expect to fuck one of them until later on that night at the earliest. The best I've done to separate a set was to open a guy in a bar who was eyeing up my set and make him my 1 minute wingman - long enough for me to disappear. I make it a point to throw $2-4 at the cockblocking girl WAAAY earlier than I initiate this so when the friend asks, "How will she get home" that's one I can shoot down easily.

On the other hand, I had a 18 year old chick insist that she wasn't going to bring her 28 year old sister on a date to cockblock me and when I found out she lied to me about that (the "friend" asked a whole bunch of personal questions to begin with - and the date was silent - I quickly found out it was her sis), I walked off the date.

I won't meet a girl if she's coming with her family. It changes the dynamic of the date - and their behavior.
