If you're wearing that in the gym, you want to be the biggest guy there.

I always thought it would be really funny to go in and lift while completely suited down. Tie, pocket square, nice shoes.

I've seen weird stuff like this.

There's an Indian troll who used to always come to my old gym in scrubs and clogs, obviously right after his job in the medical profession. He used to kick off the clogs in the middle of the bench area and proceed to walk around and lift barefoot--in his scrubs--driving me crazy on so many levels. I would troll him back by kicking his shoes out of the way, and grabbing all of dumbbells he would "reserve" for himself without asking for "permission." I'd use them and re-rack them, scrambling his workout in the process. I eventually developed respect for him since he was all-business and lifted some serious weight before bouncing the fuck out.

Turned out (no homo) that dude was ripped under those scrubs. He had the last laugh.

If there's one thing that drives me crazy in the gym (and I'm a pretty child guy, especially at the gym) it's guys who plonk themselves down surrounded by ALL of the lower weight dumbbells; 8s, 10s, 12s, 14s and then proceed to do some dumbasss hour long chest pressing routine.

I just do what you do these days…just go and grab them. It's always newbies who do this and they need to learn that it's unacceptable.

Try liquid chalk, and use it only for the exercises that you need good grip for like deadlifts and other back workouts. I used gloves but realised for some exercises they actually make it more difficult, now I'm going without and using liquid chalk for the above.

be careful not to dry your hands out too much. hand rips can happen much easier that way. nothing that a cheap hand towel wont fix.

Stop the madness!

You don't need gloves in the gym--you have skin on your hands.
Use regular chalk with a proper grip and you will need nothing else.

RE: Gloves in the gym
I use gloves and I enjoy my velvet soft hands and so do the ladies. They appreciate my buttery smooth touch when I am fiddling their lady parts during foreplay as opposed to being pawed at by mangled callous hands.

but seriously, my gym doesnt allow chalk so its gloves or nothing. after ripping off some of my callouses during a heavy deadlift I got myself a pair of gloves.

RE: Gloves in the gym
My gym isn't air conditioned so I've found a big problem with pull ups isn't getting tired, but slipping on the bar. I have a pair of work gloves that looked to be dipped in some sort of wax that I bought for $2 at a hardware store. Seems a lot of other fellows in the gym have the same thing.
