I've been to Alaska and I'm surprised judging by the looks of the women there that men are having sex with them at all.

Its an Eskimo thing, in Canadian Native communities, especially the remote ones way up north, sexual assault is very common and has been for a long time, way before the white man showed up. My aunt is a nurse at a small hospital on a remote island in BC and has also worked up in the Arctic, she says that the things she sees and stories she hears on the reserves are truly appalling.

Yeah, I don't feel like that rape statistic is heavily inflated at all. Native Americans might have it the worst out of any ethnic group in the US. My cousin worked as a doctor on an aboriginal reservation somewhere up in northern Canada, and he has similar stories about the ridiculous levels of alcohol-driven rape in the Native territories.

How exactly do they claim that X % of people have been raped, and then in the same breath say that most rapes go unreported? Just doesn't make any sense.
