She lied about an ass whooping, and a wrecked apartment. Her actions got him kicked out of school, and almost wrecked his life.

“Based on her statements that she had fabricated the stories investigators charged the female with False Reporting to Law Enforcement,” read a statement from the Tuscaloosa Police Department. She was placed in jail and released after posting bond.

On Monday, she recanted her original statement, telling police that Taylor did not harm her. When interviewed again Tuesday, she stated that she lied about the incident and was charged.

Alabama and coach Nick Saban came under harsh criticism when they signed Taylor, who had been kicked off the football team at Georgia after he was arrested on aggravated assault and family violence charges. Saban came under additional criticism Monday with the way he handled questions about Taylor and Geno Smith at his news conference.

What does this now mean for Taylor? Tuscaloosa Police stated that the charges against Taylor “will be reviewed at a later date.” When contacted by AL.com, an Alabama football spokesman was not sure if Taylor could be allowed back on the team.

Alabama's False Reporting Law is a step in the right direction, but I'm not satisfied due to the fact that it took her to come forward with the truth before his innocence was even considered.

I don't see this as a good thing for Taylor, men, or people in general.

They have not dropped the charges against Taylor, "they will be reviewed at a later date." They are not even releasing her name, as "the investigation is ongoing."

This is just intimidation by the prosecutor to get the woman to stick with her story. There's a good chance she'll change it back now.

I saw this play out scores of times in the courts. DV victims recant all of the time, maybe most of the time. This Taylor case looks like a standard DV case, an argument that gets out of control one way or another. The next day in court the "victims" often feel bad for whatever role they played, have fear of what's going to happen when the defendant gets out, or just want their lover back. It often turns into an idiotic drama over weeks.

What a spineless faggots. Where is the honor and loyalty of his team and coach? One of their men was attacked and who is standing by him? You will always encounter enemies, that's life. But the cowardice of your friends, family and colleagues is the real stab in the heart.

Again, just because she changed her story does not mean her original report to the police "was completely fabricated." That's not white-knighting: that's observation and experience in hundreds of DV cases as a defense lawyer. Many women who had the shit beat out of them by objective evidence (photos of bruises and lacerations taken by police immediately, the guy admitted to me he beat her up) will later deny any beating took place for a variety of reasons.

There's no way of us knowing what happened with Taylor.

But charging her is the police/prosecution pressuring her to change her story back.

Depends on the other evidence, including police testimony. And how she tells her story on the stand. You never can be sure what kind of jury you get and how they decide.

The reasons for this can be guessed at. They were in conflict because he is 21 with tons of status and potential and she's 24 and pushing for commitment. Which would be dumb on his part.

I hope he sues the everloving fuck out of Alabama for this. His expulsion and removal from the team were unjustified, and now that she's recanted, if they uphold these punishments then they're doing so under false pretenses. Sp5 or another lawyer on the forums, please tell me he has a case here. I want to see some heads on pikes for this.

These shitty news articles never dig deep enough. They're utter crap. Where's the police report? Where's the evidence? Were there witnesses? I'm sure someone had to have heard something. Where are their statements? Let people see it all and come to their own conclusions.

Instead controversy of this nature means big money and furthers the War on Womyn narrative.

Yes, don't be too quick to say things like this are false rape accusations. It may be a legitimate instance of domestic abuse.

Since Alabama is a state school, he should have got due process. He should have got a hearing, with some evidence other than the police report. I'd say they need her testimony or at least the police testimony + pictures of her banged up to expel him.
